Cheers Berny3 - Excellent summary - I read the rising bid as mm's trying to find stock, ie a temporary stock shortage - I am a LTH but I also keep hoping for a new announcement of some sort, to increase LT prospects and also to break the boredom.
GL, pete

A company with mrkt cap of £10mln

With listings in

Sainsbury; Tesco; Asda; Morrisons; Waitrose; Majestic Wines; Bookers

Michel & Butlers; Yates; Wetherspoons Pubs

A number other independents

A success vodka brand selling in Russia and Eastern European markets

The approved right to market and sell Blackwoods small batch Gin, Redleg Rum and Blavod in the US.

Estimated to turn over £2mln, contribution around £600K and an expected profit of £100K.

If the figures are correct above it is likely the compny will continue to see growth in revenue. Expectations Next year £2.5mln - this would double profit.

Long term hold, sit back and wait - enjoy the sunshine - heat waves are good for rum and gin sales....

Something going on? - Bid rose in steps 1.85, 1.90, 1.95, but offer stuck at 2.05 - According to advfn above, some fairly large (large for DIS that is) buys at very close to the offer today - It wasn't me this time - Today's chart implies quite a firm base at 1.95 - Anyone got any info? pete

Good to see it now in my local Greene King pubs so the big listing mentioned at the investor show. Was in a Yates pub yesterday (part of Stonegate pubs another big group) and they have RedLeg on menu as a Ginger Mojito ..... plus promoting it for tomorrow’s royal wedding along with a merkle sparkle 😂

Hi Iceman82...I don't hold DIS anymore after taking a single digit percent, non-notifiable position and finally exiting with a loss. The ongoing delay and apparent drift of timeframes to partner with a US distributor being one of my reasons to move on. It was also a small investing experiment in terms of trying out a new strategy of widening my company holding base, but clearly I have a lot to learn about the retail sector.

My learning/impression is that in a very crowded alcohol market with plenty of choice, sales is purely about image and branding. Therefore, it follows, there has to be ongoing big recurrent expenses to keep them in the forefront of customer's minds with constant refreshing of branding, advertising and marketing.

O/T

CYAN - another big hold of mine (was on my radar for about 2 years before I invested) and I thought the investment was de-risked after a couple of large contracts. Clearly I had underestimated the geographical risk of delayed implementation/execution in developing countries. However, we should see some returns from UK smart meter rollout. The worldwide potential of smart metering and IoT is massive, so I am confident that we will be taken out in due course given our technology. Patience in spades required :)

Good luck all !

Cash generative, debt of £15million vs market cap of £105 million, due to acquisitions. Strongly rising profit, they have paid a dividend for several years now. Yield ca 3%.
