Unless you are FD of Distil PLC, your comments are irrelevant and highly speculative on false pretence.

Its not so much about why the broker ACCEPTED the shares. That's obvious.

Its more about why Distil OFFERED them.

Share price can go up or down, a healthy sign (struggling companies shares hardly move). Distil is healthy company and it will go far in terms of healthy growth.

We will see 4+ before the final results and it is going to be an improvement on last year in terms of revenue, net profit and cash at bank courtesy of smart management.

Illogical assumptions/speculations by non holders (wishful thinking by losers). No broker will accept shares for cash in lieu of their services if the underlying company is going to fail. So far, Distil's progress is north bound and once USA is sorted sky is the limit.

BBBlue- thankyou for that factual info. Very helpful. It would have been useful if Dis could have found themselves able to be similarly detailed in their RNS.

Boff my apologise as I did not read the news first. Bite too hard..

TPI were appointed in November. I would imagine the deal was negotiated around that time and TPI would of looked over the company first. Being March when finalised I would imagine TPI have a pretty good idea of where the company is etc.. To agree a share swap rather than cash TPI must feel is good value and hence why it has been accepted.

In terms of a broker taking shares over cash why not? Does not seem strange. I think it is a good thing.

Boff I accept your comment over cash, but I hold out it would be prudent to keep as much cash within the business as possible. I side with the view that cash is king and there is more than likely a big push to come on volumes.

We shall see come TU.

suneday: I hold shares here, but my biggest holding is in JAY. They have joint brokers Hannam& Partners and share price Angel. Both have been paid for their services in shares and/or warrants, see RNS 11th Jan and 9th June '17. I don't think this is anything to worry about. The brokers must be happy. Certainly if you check out the chart for JAY over the last year it doesn't seem to bother the market, provided they know the company is putting its limited resources to good use

Paying in shares in advance, I've not seen that in my decades of stock market action. It has to be seen as bullish as the recipient wouldn't accept the stock unless they could make a decent profit from it, the risk / reward ratio (which you can guarantee was calculated prior to acceptance of the deal) must have been very much in favour of reward.I have a feeling the USA market entry is coming soon, and that is why the deal was done now.The deal today indicates no near term fund raising, because 1) It would dilute the payment that's just been made, that would be very naughty 2) If they were planning a near term fund raise they would have issued enough stock to make the payment (on top of what other cash they were raising), it makes no sense at all to issue shares to make the payment then issue more to raise funds, no sense at all.
