Tasting notes for the Distil Investor:

A heady, sweet aroma of financial allure to the nose, which will add a gently indulgent and silky feel to the wallet. Distinct notes of sterling pounds, american dollars and euros and other currencies abound, the Bahamas beckon. A swirl of top notes of yachts, sunkissed mahogany, a gentle, wavy turquiouse sea complete the picture of financial nirvana. One to buy, hold and savour and a must for any discerning investment bar. Available on AIM, enjoyed anywhere.

Distil, you know you want it. Get it before Diageo does.

Offer gradually offer moving up - doji cross on the intraday candlestick chart
(so far)...period of indecision/standoff between buyers/sellers at this price/moment.

I feel that we may close the day, close to the 3.70p mark. I am convinced that there is little point hanging about and took another 710k at 3.70p...news of a big US distributor arrangement could come through at any time and then we could gap up on open by atleast 0.25p on the day of announcement. Now, touching distance of my target holding of low single digit % of the equity.

Good luck all :)

Based on the pubs business, it seems that the bigger the company the smaller the margins. So for example Diageo might only give a supermarket a 50% margin, whereas Distil might give them 100% margin, hence 'special offers' of Redleg at £15 is very attractive to shoppers and still gives the supermarket a 50% margin. Supermarkets seeing 100% margin for RedLeg vs 50% margin for Captain Morgan, with RedLeg eating into Captain Morgan sales, that should ensure RedLeg stays on the supermarkets stock list for a long time.

The biggest supermarkets can provide a useful litmus test of popularity because shelf space is precious and can't be wasted on poor selling lines following trial periods. I would say the DIS brands remaining on their shelves at the end of this year will be warranted by sales volumes.

Big7ime,

We don't own any distilleries, as our production is outsourced. This also keeps our costs down and I would imagine allows for geographical proximity to markets.

Hence, we should be able to ramp up production to meet demand. However, I don't know the industry well and will ask contacts. Given the number of contracts with big retailers and the order pipeline we would be expected to fill,I am sure Dan Goulding has the production capacity and contracts in place for any ramp up of production mapped out.

Thankfully, he has been in the drinks business a very long time...and it is a very nice problem to have !

Redleg seems to be selling extraordinarily well in my town, Tesco is now out of it too. Just hope this doesn't mean they have supply issues
I'll check Morrison later in week and Waitrose as ground research is a good indicator

Aren't we due some results/TA?

I was able to buy 600k online in one go - not a negotiated trade...so some sellers about.

But bid holding up so far, so buying interest remains I expect but given the recent rise, one would expect some profit taking and retracement. As I tend to invest with a 3-5 year time horizon in general,I am not fussed about trying to fine tune by buying at specific prices, but tend to go for "at best" orders. I believe that the medium to long term is definitely upwards.

The fact that we have total control of our brands with no encumbrances/charges and we are debt free, makes me confident and I am able to invest with conviction. The spirits business is a high margin business - so cash flow should be good without too much trouble, once we have market share. And of the high likelihood of a brand buyout given recent frenzied M&A activity in alcohol/spirits sector is the icing on the cake.

I could have got in earlier and taken a bigger stake, but hey ho, it's not too late now either.....

Good luck all :)

Mainly sells showing this morning and price rising.
Is it possible reporting of buys is being held back
or are there buyers for all the sells.
Will have better idea after close.
Said this before hang on to your shares.

Developments on the candlestick chart...

My interpretation..nothing more for what it is worth

Stopping volume towards the end of last week + hammer today....potential early indicators for a move up, if backed by volumes.

Good luck all :)

Thanks Baticle...I tend to stay at under 3% more often than not.

Depending on how DIS pans out, this may be an exception - only joking ;)
