Oh yes, we'll also have Easter in the Q1 results, last year it went in the 2015 Q4.

Baticle, Amazon must be doing well for us too, otherwise we wouldn't be so far up the popularity list.

I think this year's figures will blow away last year's. I think that's what Don was planning when he held back on USA sales whilst looking at bigger distributors.

Totally agree Haggis .. the pipe fill for Asda on it's own would be huge and a lot of these numbers and a full Year at Wetherspoons etc will all go into next Years accounts so the 1st Qtr is already going to be ahead of Last years and so on.

Baticle, Morrisons had 498 stores in the UK. If they averaged 1 bottle a day each that would be 15,000 cases a year, so even 1 a day ends up a big number for Distil ;-)

A quick total of all supermarkets, ASDA, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Morrisons and Waitrose is about 6300. Plus their online sales which are running about 29% of sales.

One bottle a day for each outlet, bought in store or online from the stores local area, would be 191,625 x 12 bottle cases a year. That is huge potential at just 1 bottle per day.

Hopefully receiving some Dividend money this week so all being well..I'll get to top up before the price moves north again,I have no interest whatsoever in selling at this price, the potential here is massive especially given the move into the USA upon us.
They do like a good quality tipple across the Pond and If DIS get their marketing right I can only see it being a success over there.

Developments on the candlestick chart...

My interpretation..nothing more for what it is worth

Stopping volume towards the end of last week + hammer today....potential early indicators for a move up, if backed by volumes.

Good luck all :)

My Local Morrisons has Red Leg on at £19 and Sales are running at 1-2 bottles a day at the moment down a fair bit from when it was on offer but the Buying Public are a Savvy Lot and there are 2 Tescos within ...what I would call geographical penetration..that is a 1.5 mile Radius and I bet at £15 their Red Leg Rum Sales are more than making up for it. Will have to buy more as I emptied my bottle over the Bank Holiday... I Had Red Leg With Bitter Lemon Over Ice...I thought this a bit weird, but you know....It worked for me...I Liked it :-)

Even worse for me - 2k max on line - £60. Keeping buyers at bay and the price down to seek out sellers.

60% of shares traded today are buys and share price down 4.8%. That's a bit weird.

I don't wonder what rubbish boffshister is spouting now, thankfully I have already filtered him.

I've got to try to be nice to Haggis today. He's tetchy because both DIS and his other investment AEX are plummetting today. He's busy accusing people of being shorters and filtering everyone over there as well. I believe its called the ostrich investment approach.

Ordered 5 bottles of Redleg and a bottle of Blackwoods 60% from Amazon :) Never tried gin before, but i think it is perfect time to do it. Everything lining up for a nice Q1 trading update. Easter, +3 major supermarkets compared to previous year and increasing sales.

Popularity is measured by the amount of sales.

At this stage it is obvious Captain Morgan, Bacardi, Malibu etc will be selling far more per store than the newcomer RedLeg.

That's why those big brands are valued in billions.

...But RedLeg is catching up fast.

to build awareness and market share- hardly rocket science is it. When you have a young brand you do deals with the supermarkets to get its name out there.

It probably costs £5 to make, they knock it out to supermarket at 8 instead of 11 and the supermarket knocks it out at 15 instead of 20 . Supermarket still makes 7 instead of 9 but volumnes go up 50% so they still make more. Every body happy.

In pretty much every supermarket, RedLeg ranks closer to the bottom of the online popularity rankings. Also it seems to be on offer more often than not.

Why?

Taken another 279k :)

The things people come up with....I'm sure between the 631 ASDA stores they will sell a few bottles a year and a case or two in a decade.

I'm content with that ;)

Doubt will sell any to be honest. Probably why they've decided to stock it. ASDA clearly have a business strategy of stocking items that won't sell.
