Digital Barriers launches world’s first live facial recognition from body-worn cameras

Digital Barriers plc (AIM: DGB), has today announced SmartVis Identifier, the world's first live facial recognition system for body worn law enforcement cameras. The integration of the company’s world-class EdgeVis and SmartVis technologies provides defence, security and law enforcement agencies with real-time facial recognition against multiple watch lists and databases.

The SmartVis facial recognition technology is already available for standard smartphones and has now been adapted to run live on the company’s body worn cameras designed for frontline law enforcement. Thanks for that although I'm not ready to buy in here in spite of the good publicity, which no doubt will help any fundraising which I'm sure will come. I may be wrong but my reasons for being bearish are not anything to do with the technology IP but with the inability of the management to make any money. The balance sheet is terrible with most assets being intangibles, the cash flow is terrible with £3M at the interims and only credit from one of their major shareholders is keeping them afloat imho. A fundraising, should it happen, will probably be at a discount and will be very dilutive to PI's.

Definitely a market for their products, but any investment at the moment is just a punt that might pay off but probably wont IMHO. My punt money went in the tech bubble of 1999-2000, still waiting. Barring a material change in the business, still watching from the sidelines.

AISHAH. nice to see a positive comment for once - I gave up back in 2014 (sp action since has proved me right) but possibly need to take another look. However Simply Wall street is very much (imo) a Tip Sheet and all necessary cautions needed.

Conclusion:

"As stated before, nowhere can I find ThruVis competition. I have no doubt soft target solutions will be the next wave in global homeland security investment. EdgeVis Shield is in a more crowded market, but based on their tested installments in Afghanistan and elsewhere and current pilot program with DHS in Arizona, they seem primed to take advantage of the large pie that Donald Trump wants to hand out to secure the southern US border and perhaps elsewhere in the world.

Any win from that effort could very quickly lead to explosive revenue growth for this company. I see Digital Barriers as a very inexpensive and under the radar investment that could see big growth in the next few years."
