Ashley played dirty game with jjb...he took stake and rented them out to be shorted...ashley took 29 percent stake in debenhams..then he rented out to odey and others to short spreading rumour...to keep price down ..so that he can destroy it...and get it cheap...that was his dream...as he proposed once to sell sports direct stuff in debenhamd and he was refused in 2008 or early 2009...thats he didnt for got...hence his dream to become retail don of british highstreet by getting them cheap..hence

10 days to cover though so could be quite a rally.
143M shares shorted out of 1.2Bn in issue.

Debenhams will survibe big time...they will have to use their shop floor space and human resources effectively...no harm selling cheap products targetting primark..aldi and liddle type customers which are majority currently in one corner of the shop... to sell brand products in another area of shop floor...renting out some area of shop floor to other business like restaurant chain....make online offers more attractive with vouchers to spend in the shop.

They will be making money..just need right carrot for right group to get them in
