Smart money has been buying for weeks, bottom in for retailers, ignore all the noise, melt up to 20p, shorts will start closing unless they are a tad too greedy.

As for "well done Debenhams" what for?
What happen yesterday was that the market got excited for possible takeover action. Nothing to do with the company

20% of HOF will probably shut.

Mike Ashley has given a rare interview in which he appears to pledge to keep open more than 45 House of Fraser stores.

In the deal announced on Friday his Sports Direct chain bought all 59 House of Fraser stores - 31 of which were to have closed under a previous restructuring plan.

He told The Sun he would try to keep 80% of the stores open. “In a year’s time you can hold my feet to the fire on that.”
This might suggest that the flagship store on Oxford Street could be granted a reprieve if the landlords can be convinced.

He told the Sun newspaper his plans to stock House of Fraser with “cool brands of the moment”.

Seems he will after all have to stump up more money for Christmas stock and he is getting behind the curve, this should have been done by now!

Turning round HOF is going to take a lot of Ashley's time, its unlikely he will be interested in other acquisitions following his purchase of HOF.

"In Harrods you get some exceptional services. What we would like to do is introduce a ‘concierge click and collect’ at House of Fraser.

“When you go online and say you want to collect goods in-store, you should be able to book a time, book a changing room and book a stylist.

“You get that kind of personal shopping service in a Harrods. There’s no reason why it couldn’t be rolled out nationally across House of Fraser.”

So let's get this right:
The directors are wrong
The company is wrong
Their barristers are wrong
Their solicitors are wrong
Your solicitor is wrong
Your barrister is wrong
Countless judges that were real QCs were wrong

You've been declared bankrupt as a result of all the above wrongdoing

But you're right? Ah, I get it now.

This ring any bells?".

Here below is what the link shows . there is a picture of him in the link .

A BUSINESSMAN tried to sue Sainsbury’s for £5,000 after a shop assistant asked if he had a receipt for his previous purchases.

Barrie Bridge, a self-employed interior decorating consultant based in Birkdale, now has to pay the supermarket chain £728 costs after his year-long bid to sue them for invasion of privacy, defamation and unlawful search and trespassing was refused.

Mr Bridge, 60, represented himself at the hearing at Southport County Court on Monday (January 31).

He said: “Last year I went shopping and I took with me a bag for life, with the intention being to use the one bag.

“My first visit was to the pound shop and my next visit was to Sainsbury's.

“I chose a small amount of goods which were placed in my hand basket together with my bag for life and went to the checkout.

“My bag for life was placed into the hand basket and handed to the cashier to pack.

“The checkout assistant opened my bag for life and questioned me over my previous purchase and asked if I had a receipt.

“I considered that was wrong of Sainsbury’s and took them to court.”

At County Court on Monday Judge McCullagh ruled that as Mr Bridge handed his bag for life to the cashier to pack, it was “entirely reasonable” for the cashier, Mrs Carol Houghton, to question him over what she saw was in his bag.

Judge McCullagh said: “If she had not asked for a receipt, she would not have been carrying out her duties.

“She was simply following normal procedure.”

Despite the huge cost, which includes the fee of almost £600 for the defence barrister representing Sainsbury’s, Mr Bridge is considering lodging an appeal.

“The checkout assistant questioning me was offensive and humiliating”, he said.

“Sainsbury’s has placed my business at risk.

At the end of the wording it says this “I was a loyal shopper at Sainsbury's, now there has been a complete loss of trust.

“My day out on the Sunday was ruined, I spent the next day thinking of what had happened and writing letters.

“I have had sleepless nights since and spent considerable time in these proceedings.

“I have had to take medication for the stress I have suffered and I have had to alter my shopping behaviour.”

.All the above was in a newspaper called the southport newspaper , for the public to read , not fake news ,real actual news .of public interest .

debs I do think you are falling into the trap of wanting too much to be right on this. The thing with investments or views is there never is a right or wrong as you can never cover all the variables.

Haven't read The Sun piece but don't need to as it is most likely a softening up exercise for taxing online deliveries.

You know it would not amaze me if Amazon were to bid for Debs as they can no doubt hear the dog whistles. Debs is after all a well liked brand that millions visit every week.

Might not be a big premium though so bulls don't get too exited!
