04/3/2005 15:02 | Anyone looked at ALT (Applied Optical) DLAR are a major customer of ALT, which means ALT should be doing well out of them if DLAR are "Well Ahead". May help to account for the recent heavy director buying at ALT and the recent Strong buy rec by Brewin Dolphin. CR | cockneyrebel

04/12/2004 22:13 | HEX:Thanks for your comments . Have to confess that I sold out yesterday afternoon at 363p ( after the broker upgrade) with an extremely handsome profit. DLAR has done me proud and I've only been in them for a month. Hopefully I've left something for you and all current holders. The profit was too good not to 'box-in' . I've learnt to my cost in the past that it ain't a profit until you take it !!!! I will continue to monitor . There could well be other buying opportunities down the line. | wendsworth
03/12/2004 16:21 | I know it's been announced re job cuts, but rumour control guys from Low Fell. The factory at TVTE looks like they will be making a reduction in the workforce of about 25%. | hotfrog12
03/12/2004 12:23 | Hi wendsworth - you're not alone! Good news for DLAR. I bought recently, but am intending long term hold. Decent yield and business recovering. | hex
02/12/2004 18:02 | A good set of results and an excellent week for the share price .More to come methinks ! | wendsworth
01/12/2004 17:49 | A nice move upwards today . VERY POSITIVE INTERIMS would see DLAR really motor tomorrow and over the next few weeks as we move into the annual tipping season. | wendsworth
20/10/2004 14:46 | Clearly not ! | wendsworth
06/10/2004 22:59 | Are there any DLAR holders out there ????? If so any views further to those already expressed on this BB? | wendsworth
04/10/2004 20:13 | DLAR looks interesting . Why such a quiet BB? | wendsworth
16/8/2004 13:01 | It hit the fan last week Let's see what happens at De la Rue this week | wild bill
25/11/2003 08:55 | Ah well, wrong again. Although I do think the results were really not very good, flat pre the nasties, loss making at the statutory level. Worth over £500m? Quite a lot of future success already priced in. Not particularly interested in buying at this level, although I suppose the cash generation is good (albeit much of it from customer prepayments wthat will unwind.) All told, not really sure why they are up 8%. | monty burns
17/11/2003 17:23 | Not looking like it, but should be good results after their ahead-of-expectation I think some brokers said 'reduce' on valuation groundswhen it was around 310, but have not been following too closely, having got out at 295 (still on the way up, groan) with the other half. Nice profit, and watching to get back in, but it does look a fairly sustained drift down. Maybe the Iraqi banknote thing is getting more unlikely as things there deteriorate, but dunno. I'd think about buying at 255 where I bought last time, but not too sure, as it might be safer to wait for the results. | monty burns
17/11/2003 08:58 | anyone expecting these to rise in the run up to their results on 25/11 ? | sharedoc
28/10/2003 17:01 | If Blunkett gets his way and UK identity cards are in the queens speech, would DLAR benefit? | bicknoller
19/9/2003 09:08 | Lets hope it can hold on above that £3 resistance level. It had seemed to be bouncing down off it prior to this Iraq banknote news. There's then a huge gap upwards which ought to close. | enochthenocker
03/9/2003 08:52 | Jolly-d for the rise - but based on what? Sold half of these at 277 and 275 for about £1k profit when it started to drift back and put it in FFY, which as yet has gone nowhere. This is what I find frustrating about these mid-cap shares with spreads - when it starts to drift back I take profits and sell, then miss out on the next rise. It's tree-shaking I know, but the spreads and my own greed/fear combine to make me miss out on a lot. Hanging on to the rest until, um, they start to go down......... | monty burns
14/8/2003 11:02 | Looks like the bid speculation subsiding over the last few days. Decided to get into these on fundamentals anyway, bid would be nice. No debt, earnings improving, outlook good, barriers to entry for competitors, fairly low PE ratio on current earnings, very low on prior earnings if they can get back to producing them. Clearly chart suggests they could go lower, but taking a gamble on getting in now. Happy to add if they go lower. | monty burns
11/7/2003 07:50 | There's comment by Lex in todays FT on DLAR- I no longer subscribe online so can't see it. Anyony know what it says? | enochthenocker
07/7/2003 18:49 | check the rns .. they are in discussions to print the iraqi banknotes ... | stevem |
