There's a bit more demand out there again (@ 9.58p). You can sell 300K shares without going through to broker. |
The Indian economy versus Western Economies are very different..Looking at the Genus JV, "the money" (Singapore) took 70%, whilst the enablers got 30% - if you need expansion working capital, maybe that has to be deal split? |
I’m definitely not of the opinion there will be a placing by Christmas as I don’t see why AXIA would have been so keen to buy the Miton stock recently at 10p.
I wouldn’t be surprised however though to see them make a bid soon for a controlling stake whilst we’re still at these levels and definitely before more substantial orders come in.
All very secretive and unnerving for the pi,s having AXIA involved albeit likely their purchases are a good thing (or pre staged alongside Miton exit).
Perhaps Mr Miton is actually the connection.
The BoD don’t seem to want to lay any real light on AXIA involvement either though that’s not out of the ordinary for them. |
Cash is extremely hard to come by in the infrastructure space ATM - there's no visible exit for the 'money'.
From memory, the SPV idea was being spun by Cyan as a 50% / 50% partnership (i.e. party puts up the cash for their 50% and Cyan provides the tech etc for their 50%).
No chance.
The 'money' will want a bigger slice of the pie, leaving Cyan with the crumbs (again).
That's the way I see it. |
Hi multibagger.... Warburton's wholemeal £1 loaf .families choice ....electric meters will become families choice when the forced becomes wanted and the possibilities of linked health monitoring can be seen ....people willingly pay for knowledge ....not bills ...smart ..saw it on Star Trek |
Off topic:
Gails Artisan Bakery with £32m of annual revenue /152 stores is on the market with an expectation of a £500 million sale. Plenty of dough in bread is what I say :)
Not long after a cryptocurrency multimillionaire paid over $6m for a banana taped to the wall with duct tape. He has since eaten the banana !
Prices paid often have no connection with traditional intrinsic valuations....bitcoin another example. |
I recall the concept of multiple Indian market SM SPV's being formed, was first raised by HP around July 2022, after RDSS was launched. However IMO the reality of Cyan taking a AMISP stake (other than as a SPV supplier) was from when they created the Indian Digismart subsidiary around May 2024. |
The SPV idea was being touted before May'24 (i.e. 18 months ago), without any takers. |
Digismart were empanelled around 22 May 2024, and hence could then negotiate in an SPV as the AMISP - "miracles take longer" |
They can't make money as a subby and they can't find a partner to fund their SPV idea (and they've been doing the rounds for 18 months).
Fundraises will need to continue for the foreseeable. |
To sustain their giddy rate of expansion, cash flow necessitates IMO some fundraising - let's see how they can pull that off. As I said before, in any event shareholders need to see Sales per Share continuing climbing. |
Axia have obviously put their cheque book away for the time being.
Now we'll have to wait to see how many they take up in this month's anticipated fundraise. |
NSGM awards make interesting reading and seems to be updated at least weekly. I looked last week and was struck how diverse the AMISP names are now becoming - how many will select Cyan Comms - opportunity for our own CC JV AMISP's too! Several of the state packages can be seen spilt between AMISP's. |
Evening all. Another day designed to test our patience. Clearly there is a lot going on in the background, but we, the faithful, are reduced to reading the tea leaves. On the other board, LTI has provided a link to the NSGM smart metering dashboard. I haven't looked at it before, but it does make interesting reading. A pretty large number of contracts have been awarded, but I suppose many of these have still to make their way down to the sub-contractors, like CC. The sooner the better. I see that LF's remit includes investor relations. It would be nice to think that he isn't restricted to schmoozing those and such as those but also includes the bottom-feeders like myself. If there isn't some decent news next week, I may have to seek help. GLA (don't know why I keep typing that; never seems to do any good). |
Hi SBP :)
Interesting to see a number of Indian CMs on "tours to attract foreign inward investment"....the Rajasthan crew were here some weeks ago and now MP. Lot of posts on LinkedIn and X relating to this meeting with JC and HP.
Good to see JC and HP meeting with the Indian CMs and delegations.
Interesting highlight that the state of MP has a population of 88m people or 131% our entire UK population and it is just the 5th most populous state in India. The mind boggles !
MP has the largest deployment of our smart meters by far in India at the moment. |
I’m sure the cynics will pooh pooh this (blackadder reference!) but I think it is a big deal. Those are serious people in the meeting with John and heather

IC seems to have veered away from UK shares coverage (especially micro-caps) and the interesting stuff seems to now be siphoned off to IC Alpha (that I won't pay for, on principle). So lack of IC coverage is no big deal to me; seriously thinking of cancelling IC sub. Weakness of company promotion is an issue IMHO |
....I'm worried that a offer may disappoint expectations...for some ..and a loss of connection to journey for others |
itt, I guess as you say, it raises the question why have they not covered. Could be lots of different reasons like it's too small (36m is pretty small), or they have been put off by the fact that big orders have been promised on and off for 10 years or more and never materialised (until the last few months that is) or, as you say it could be more concerning. I don't know the answer, but for that reason it is of some concern. However, there are lots of concerns with small companies. Top of my list here is lack of patent protection. However, you have to weigh those against perceived upside, and in my view that (currently) outweighs the risks/downsides. I guess that is what investing is all about weighing up risks/rewards and making good decisions.
Best regards SBP |
Hi SBP
Thanks for your post.
Why do you find it concerning?

ITT |
itt I think complete lack of coverage in Investors Chronic or similar is of some concern. However, 4 years ago the shares were under 2p, I know because I bought a bunch. That's a five bagger in 4 years, IC never covered them then. If we 5 bag again in the next 4 years I'll be pretty happy ( I think they may do better than that as it happens). The point I make is that these magazines are by no means the be all and end all of investing.
Best regards SBP |
Hi DTB:)
Oxford overrated LOL ! Cambridge better needless to say and of course I am biased :) |
I love the way nobody says anything about the complete lack of coverage of Cyan in shares magazines or newspapers. Ten years and counting.
Is it because the BoD (mainly JC) block it because they (he) don't want the scrutiny that would come with that?
Come on Gizmo555, please give me your spin on it. |
