27/3/2018 15:09 | do not forget it is end of year soon, april 5th, so there maybe some offloading this for the tax saving. | sea7
27/3/2018 15:04 | Anyone up for Mello 2018 where you can find another 50 companies like this | mr hangman
27/3/2018 14:53 | With the big man heading out the door and about time too, Crawshaws will rise from this dark time and start becoming who they once was, disappointed he's bailed after so much change, leaving the rest to pick up the pieces. Let's hope they don't get their fingers burnt again and by a had been..... | butchedaddy1
27/3/2018 14:47 | Maybe ones who are loss-making in debt breaching banking covenants with markets caps of 10's of millions but not ones valued at 3 million with net cash after working capital commitments of circa £2.5 million and tangible net assets at £9 million whose core business is profitable. Point taken on retailers though! | s1zematters
27/3/2018 14:42 | You just cannot fight retailers atm. For every person who is buying the shares there will be 3 selling in this market | dave4545
27/3/2018 13:07 | as expected, I can buy at 3.32p now, below the advertised bid. If I put in an order for 100k shares it goes straight to "at best" which is 3.7p so they are not keen to let larger amounts out at lower prices. | sea7
27/3/2018 11:48 | yesterday - 50k trade at below bid, timed for 11.35. Trade was then cancelled and reversed, shortly after the bid was dropped with a cancelled trade time of 11.35. today 50k trade at below bid, timed for 11.43. Just waiting for the bid to drop and then look to see if the trade is cancelled later on, with the time stamp of 11.43. nothing like trying to pull the price down eh. | sea7
27/3/2018 11:03 | Thanks for that mcmather. The announcement of them going, ties in with the sign off the accounts, as no one else is going to want to put their name to a period they were not involved in. The new person at the helm, will not be tarred with any of the past and is a fresh pair of eyes. The accounts are due out next month. | sea7
27/3/2018 10:40 | Let's hope so fillipe. | mcmather
27/3/2018 10:39 | Not sure there's masses of difference between the two sea7. Noel though assembled a management team - with associated costs - as if it was a very much larger operation. Prices went up, customers went elsewhere, shops were put under pressure to somehow improve (without customers), suppliers were upset along the way, crawshaws was no longer the place to be for ambitious employees, morale dropped, standards too, etc. There's always been a business here with potential. Noel just failed to realise the potential. Badly. | mcmather
27/3/2018 10:31 | Well, if ACRL can get off the bottom today to the strong tune of + 27.78%, as I type, then surely CRAW should be looking at an uptick before long. f | fillipe
27/3/2018 10:15 | yep, that model depends on the hot food selling. I suspect that Neil C, tried to put his lidl model in to this... From May 2016 Last year Noel Collett made an unconventional career move. He’d spent sixteen years at the leading discount supermarket Lidl, where as UK Chief Operating Officer he oversaw its growth into a £4.5 billion 600 store giant. So his move to Crawshaws (AIM: CRAW) as CEO was as far removed from Lidl as he could possibly get. ............ Good chance then that he has found himself out of his depth at crawshaws. I bet when the staff at the stores, heard who was taking over as CEO back then, they said "he's from where, LIDL, what does he know about running a butchers shop" | sea7
27/3/2018 10:06 | The last 3 stores - Leicester, Liverpool and Wigan - are all in decent spots. I think it was tiger on here who alluded to 'farm shops' being the way to go and Leicester and Liverpool appear to be following that model by selling fresh veg, bread and eggs in addition to the usual meat. The high street model was said to be virtually waste free re the meat being used in the hot food to go range before it went bad. I still reckon that has legs (the town centres of the likes of bolton, warrington n widnes are still busy during the day but especially 11-2) but it seems the figures might suggest otherwise, so? | mcmather
27/3/2018 09:45 | at least it is in a location that is known - opposite aldi. The person I spoke with moved from wigan some years ago, yet knew exactly where I meant, when I said opposite aldi, even though they couldn't remember exactly where ormskirk road was. | sea7
27/3/2018 09:42 | tks mcmather - I mentioned the wigan store to someone from there and they were very upbeat about it and said that they will be going there when they next visit and that their family will no doubt be having a look, as they still live in wigan | sea7
27/3/2018 09:18 | Yes, good to read all that - gives a warmer feeling for the future. Thanks. f | fillipe
27/3/2018 08:45 | Tks mcmather - some good info there. | sea7
26/3/2018 23:58 | We will probably see an announcement tomorrow but you must ask why folk here seem to have a better understanding of what's required. | playful
26/3/2018 22:03 | I'm struggling to contain my disappointment Mr Boyd has not already been announced our CEO and if not why? He is just the shot in the arm staff need. How can anyone else motivate them...25 years together they won't accept anyone else..Just ask Noel | playful
