23/3/2017 08:21 | Was due for a £600 million IPO not too long ago Sad news for the employees. It would have ultimately been the growth in online competition that fatally wounded them, but that's not going to happen here. | playful
23/3/2017 08:01 | It is rather - I misread it initially and thought it was CRAW and not the private company - heyho. | skinny
23/3/2017 07:59 | Skinny. So what. ? This is as good as irrelevant isn't it? | rimmy2000
23/3/2017 07:34 | I agree with Shakkaa but will the price bounce? Its still not fancied by me tiger | castleford tiger
22/3/2017 23:21 | Re margins and the 'margin investment' - management spout some rollocks at times - the difference was just 1.3% (gross) for the 5 weeks to 1 Jan between the 2016 figures against 2017: "...this improvement in both sales and customer number momentum has required a moderate level of margin investment, with gross margins in the like-for-like stores at 43.6% H2 2017 to date (versus 44.9% H2 2016 to date)". The factory stores seem to be bobbing along very well and the high street stores that I have visited are all showing improvement numbers wise; things appear to have been generally decent since the start of December 2016. I reckon the improvement of the high street stores could be of some relevance / importance here, not just in terms of overall revenue, but with the company said to keep wastage down by utilising the meat not sold in the food to go range. | mcmather
22/3/2017 21:21 | Evening Abergele, the annual bloods shows OK only yesterday. I put it down to a good diet of Crawshaws products ☺ I've been in these a while now...very costly experience :-( But if the company continues as projected and we get to 200 stores it could turn out well in the end. 22/3/2017 20:25 | Me thinks Aprils figures will be woeful, heaven knows where the share price will be | shakkaa

22/3/2017 20:02 | Hello again Opto, yes a while since we were together in a share it seems now, I hope you are well??, I think I am? haaaa, haaa, one never knows these days when it's so hard to get to see a doctor about ones health, annual blood tests seem ok..so we must be safe,,,I hope. I have no boat on the canal anymore,so never get to Chirk nowadays. I have been watching these (CRAW) for a while in dismay for lth's,who have suffered a lot it seems, almost like EME was to me,but hey that's our life as we like it.and dipped my toes in as I believe the bottom has been reached... Best wishes to you,..David | abergele

22/3/2017 13:03 | I agree with tadders it is a good risk/reward but the destruction of shareholder value at the hands of our current CEO will effectively see us sit on the naughty step for a long time. | playful
22/3/2017 12:59 | im in for a few gl | runwaypaul
22/3/2017 11:56 | Over the last 6 trading days, icl.todays blues,,,, CRAW has 180k more sells than buys.!outstanding and yet we rise today, my thoughts are a buyer who will show an increase in holdings sooner than later perhaps, has the bottom been seen now,and it's upwards as per brokers remarks.imho..gla | abergele
22/3/2017 10:21 | tadders........... Buyers........Price firming but can you see value here? Tiger | castleford tiger

21/3/2017 20:03 | You could be forgiven for thinking we run a supermarket comparison service today on this board. I notice John Crawshaw is busy rolling out new stores and considering his probable budget it doesn't look too bad (see his twitter for the photo). I am thinking the annual payroll for his whole business is what we pay our CEO so that puts things in perspective. We were mitigating the currency problems and buying from South America but not any more.... You always can be sure whenever you buy from our Pocklington shop it's good true Yorkshire meat. | playful |
