Cranswick is proposing a one-for-one bonus share issue, which is subject to
shareholders' approval at the AGM on July 29. Dealing in the new shares will
begin on July 30.

Unfortunately for me the recent fall in the share price triggered my stop loss and I no longer hold. (Instead I have a lot of Anite shares, doh!!)

Pretty good day today. I hold a few of these in my PEP so its nice to call one right for a change. You reckon its the share split that is driving the price up and not the consistent performance over the last two yrads?

over £10 now... and the uptrend continues to look strong.
But I guess the business is just too dull for most.

Was it tipped at the weekend?

There's a lot of nasty talk about meat of most varieties at the moment - see the references on the PRM thread.

Puts me off CWK shares a bit - risk of sudden hit in the event of adverse news on meat products

I think the problem is the use of sheep intestines as sausage skins, the risk being the transmission of sheep BSE to humans. Apparently 1 in 6 sausages are manufactured using these ingredients. Anyone know if Cranswick use them?

I saw the CEO being interviewed on Bloomberg yesterday, and heard
nothing about that. Infact he was bullish about future prospects.

They also intend to grow by acquisition using the cash being
generated by the current business.

I think there is always a risk with these food producers of some
kind of disease scare, but overall, it looks a good investment.

Saw something on working lunch the other day about another disease affecting pigs which looks like having major impact on the industry.

trying to remember but i think it said no cure,(no pun intended).

also i think it was a british disease again.

i'm not a holder of Craanswick but can't help being impressed with the results but this piece of news is holding me back though it doesn't seem to have affected the share price.

anyone know anything to clear this up for me?

Morose,
I did not see the interview but suspect that they were discussing PMWS which is a virus disease of pigs. This disease does not affect humans - therefore unlikely to cause a food scare. Besides, it has been around in many countries for the last 8 or 9 years at least.

Also, the chart looks very good indeed.
Given the growth, cash generation, and the share splitdoldrums,
this is one which might be worth holding over the next few months.
I bought a few this morning.

Good trading update today- above estimates. Nice bounce in progress. Stochs turned up from oversold, MACD cross for up. Techs getting hammered - should favour switch to less scary growth. Come on £9!
