I appreciate Clocktower that you sold out & want your sell to be vindicated by our failure here -however had you read the RNS properly you would have seen-
1) A CVA 10 years ago which was discharged & company restored, presumably within the terms of the CVA
2)2 voluntary liquidations of property companies when the conventional wisdom with extraction of property assets, particularly boughht via SPAs,was to Liquidate & then have a Members Voluntary Liquidation ,thereby ensuring that any profits arising were taxed under CGT rather than Corporation Tax & Dividend Tax-which was therefore very tax efficient
Ian Hillman is clearly an entrepreneur, who in his 7 months within Coral Group has demonstrated an ability to make decisions ,deal with issues & contribute to the wider group ,such that our Board & Advisors were happy to appoint him to our Board.Additionally it demonstrates that his company must have been performing well within the group.
I appreciate constructive criticism Clock but your desire for your sell to be vindicated is destructive .
I appreciate that we operate in difficult markets with global markets & supply chains in turmoil but lets await Results before passing judgement & , should we fail, you will be vindicated which will,no doubt, make you feel better.

Yes, he has plenty of skin in the game. I dug out my copy of the annual report and accounts and found that only Joe and two institutions have more shares than he does.

He is also a director of Film & Foil Solutions Limited.

What a shocker of a history the new face on the block has, and yet clearly has considerable assets.

I am sure that my purchases did cause the mark up but it also got a few sellers out !!

Welcome Parsons & I wish you every success with your investment here.Depending om how many you bought & with view the limited number of free floating shares ,your buy may have caused the mark up in our share price -rather a ‘leak’ of information

It didn't take much buying to move the share price up today, however the share price is still in the same trading range that it has been in for over a year.

Bishan - yes any up or down of 3% has to be explained - unless the rules have been changed!

I have bought in for the first time today. Interims are due, and with all the acquisitions and positive news should show that the company is vastly under-valued. There is absolutely no stock around either. GLA

JG has previously advised that energy costs are fixed ( I believe for 2 years)so inflationary pressures likely from wage increases ,raw material costs & transportation.I wasnt delerious about our latest acquisition as it took a large amount of our cash buffer & , more importantly,is in a sector which will be adversely affected by property development slowdowns & reductions in Govt spending. We know that H1 exceeded expectations so I am interested in the outlook for FY23 & whether JG remains as upbeat as he was in his last update & particularly that all is positive with Eco.
Not long to wait for Interims

I would be more worried about this quote from post 3248 as this is just what you would expect to be said even if the roof looked like it might be falling in, as of course you would be looking to strengthen the thing before it did collapse.

"Whilst the short-term macroeconomic outlook remains challenging, the Group will continue to seek opportunities to strengthen and develop our business."

More than 3% rise means they will have to get their Nomad to tell SE what is going on - although it might just be " good reaction to results and AGM"

"I am delighted to report that the Group has enjoyed a very strong start to our current financial period with sales and profits before tax materially ahead of the same period last year and in line with market expectations."

"Whilst the short-term macroeconomic outlook remains challenging, the Group will continue to seek opportunities to strengthen and develop our business."

"With our strong balance sheet, we are confident of further progress in the current financial period."

I'm looking forward to the interims, I'm hoping for £17m revenue and £2m Op Cash (exc integration costs)

Thanks for your views charo.

All very well if the share price does rise but is the market demanding a high yield because of what it perceives as a risk of the dividend falling in the future.

I guess if you earn dividends and are based outside the UK and only pay little or no tax on earnings or dividends it does not matter but its fine to pay tax on profits but also be able to mitigate those against losses, as opposed to all income received from dividends being taxed in the UK.

Interims due soon so lets hope all recent acquisitions are being merged smoothly & , most importantly, that trading remains as strong as referred to in recent updates.
It will be interesting to see our cash position & revenues/cashflows in H1

The yield is high because share price is low.
My personal investment decisions are determined by yields and cover.
I don't chase rainbows and look to invest in asset backed cash generating companies paying dividends out of earnings around twice cover. This means that with depreciation plus 50%of profits reinvested should ensure future of my investment. Finally as share price of coral rises to level its performance warrants yield will fall to market Ave say 4%.

LOL charo

Do you think the budget will have any effect or bearing on CRU or dividend policy, growth in share price might be better than high dividends.

Profits can be offset against any losses on stocks but dividends get taxed, so I consider growth in stock price is far better than dividends, which in this case is very high.
