24/6/2012 15:39 | I still very much like FRX and intend to get back into that stock...the main reasons I sold out are detailed below... - I sold my FRX so I could buy into CDC...the reason being is that I see a greater potential for share price appreciation in comparison to FRX (IMHO) - FRX has had a fair amount of news flow recently...without any further news flow I am thinking the share price will either remain in its current trading pattern or decline (IMHO) - I wanted to focus my investments on my top stocks, AFF, GKP & CDC, I have sold out of other positions to build on my holding in CDC - FRX will need to raise further cash to move the projects forward, raising cash in the current market is going to be very difficult, the capital markets may almost be closed to companies wanting to raise funds so this could mean that FRX have to raise cash at a hefty discount to the current share price (all IMHO!) once the market believe this it will take the share price down...doesn't matter how good a companies projects are if the market thinks they need to raise cash and it will be at a discount it will be a self fullfilling prophecy in terms of the affect on the share price ..all in my humble opinion. - Personally, I am focusing on stocks that are cashed up and thus do not need to come to the market to raise funds, such as CDC & AFF! These types of companies will be able to get on with progressing there projects without any delays due to having limited cash to move the projects forward...companies that do not have cash will be in a very difficult position. When we eventually do come out of this global depression/recession (whatever you want to call it) those companies who have managed to conserver cash and use it wisely in developing there projects/assets will be in a very strong position. This is my take on things...we will come out of this current global malaise (history has shown that we always do!)...and when we do some of these resource stocks will go on tremendous runs, appreciating in the 100s of %...of course this is all sometime off and looking at things on a day to day basis at the current time it is difficult to have the positive vision to see this. But the fact remains that the world is developing at an ever faster and more frantic rate, 100s of millions of people are being lifted out of poverty in China, India, Brazil and Russia and they all want what we in the west take for granted. In the next few decades there will be some major challanges ahead in terms of securing hard and soft resources....indeed I would not be surprised to see conflicts continue to be sparked across the globe due to the global powers and emerging economies need to secure resources in order to ensure there economic progression. Materials such as Copper will be in great demand, I remain convinced that we will see copper at over 12,000US$ a ton sometime this decade. P.S the average age of a farmer in the US, Canada, the UK and Ireland is almost 60 years old!!! Think about that and combine that with ever increasing mouths to feed and the 100s of millions of newly created middle class in the BRICs consuming more and having higher protein diets | ![]() the count of monte_cristo

22/6/2012 12:55 | Loving this bit.... "Contained copper in the total gross Resource increased by 57,000 tonnes to 1,187,000 tonnes. Still potential to expand resources further with additional drilling. " Does everyone agree the head and shoulders pattern (10th Jan 2012 to present) is now well and truly over? The mid-term trendline still sits around the the 15p mark for the retrace but we do look to have bounced above the long term down trend which means (and I know this sounds dirty) but if I was bottom picking , it would be now. Topping up as I can as I believe 10-11p is CDC's bottom...all IMO, DYOR etc etc. | ![]() duxy786

Sorry mate a little dyslexic so spelling and grammer have never been a strong point but then again, did ok, so am not too worried! 22/6/2012 08:09 | Of general interest.. ..Adrian Day Asset Management says Lumina is now cheap enough to lure BHP Billiton Ltd. (BHP) or Rio Tinto Group as copper reserves are exhausted and deposits become harder to find... ..."there's been a distinct lack of good quality projects being discovered that can help offset the growing demand" in the copper market... ...Mining companies haven't kept pace with demand because reserves are becoming harder to find and the quality of ore is declining, meaning that less copper is extracted from each ton of rock. BHP's copper output last fiscal year fell to the lowest level since at least 2004, according to data compiled by Bloomberg, while Rio Tinto's 2011 copper production slumped to the lowest in more than a decade... | ![]() the count of monte_cristo
22/6/2012 07:55 | good point Monte tho i'm in KAZ so even the biggies have been hit. they still intend to ramp up production though. | ![]() leoneobull
22/6/2012 07:45 | Check out the share prices declines for two other copper focused companies, MNC & WTI, similar declines to CDC. Nothing wrong with the company, far from it, IMHO, however there is something wrong with the global economy...which is hitting copper prices and resource stocks and causing a sell off....just like in 2008. This is all leading to a curtailment in investing in new projects and expanding production which is building the next bull run in copper prices, because when we eventually come out of this global malaise...which we will...supply will again outstrip demand and due to the postponement of investments in new projects there will be a lag in bringing new projects online. 1.2 Billion Indians and 1.3 billion Chinese all want what we in the West have. China accounts for 30% of the copper market, therefore any decline in its consumption of the metal has a magnified impact on the copper price. | ![]() the count of monte_cristo

21/6/2012 21:11 | just emailed him: Hi Mitch. I'm an investor in CDC (PI) and a bit concerned about recent share price decline. There were a succession of quite bullish-sounding RNS then a very bearish-sounding RNS.'Completion of 34,002 Metres of Drilling at Basay and Suspension of Further Drilling Pending Deeper Study of Results and Geology With a View to a Possible JV and Resignation of Director'. I completely appreciate the major decline in mining exploration equities and the difficult state of the market but it seems that Soltara has sold their entire equity stake and the 200000 sells each day after the close at below market price strongly suggest another II is selling out too. Can you offer us some hope in future RNS since the previous RNS really suggested quite significant progress? I know that there has been lots of drilling but I mean in relation to interest in developing Basay, etc. | ![]() leoneobull
21/6/2012 21:00 | i said at time that RNS is possibly one of worse i've seen..they should've made it sound more positive. Completion of 34,002 Metres of Drilling at Basay and Suspension of Further Drilling Pending Deeper Study of Results and Geology With a View to a Possible JV and Resignation of Director | ![]() leoneobull
21/6/2012 20:50 | Monte, Monte. what u propose is illegal. no harm in a bit of naive thinking though. it's clear an II is selling their entire stake....since they keep dumping 200ks after hours persistently and well below the bid /ask spread. i said that i read the RNS very negatively & it seems the IIs agree. Soltara selling is another negative they should be in know. WHat i hope is that it's simply a waiting game i.e. big copper infra invest is delayed by majors.. | ![]() leoneobull
21/6/2012 20:44 | ive noticed it for days. selling well below the offer. must be an II. simple as that hinboba is dead for time (as an imminent JV) because of state of equity mkts. So cold feet about Basay. but then...i was in MNR when an II sold the lot at 15p it went down to 5 or 6p then up to £1.20 so ...but i'd like clarity from mitch are we dead or do these IIs lack balls? | ![]() leoneobull
21/6/2012 20:37 | there's a consistent after hours sell 200k.... | ![]() leoneobull
21/6/2012 19:30 | 200k seller is persistant, i'll give him that! Maybe it is an ii... hopefully they finish sooner rather than later!! | ![]() mike_f
21/6/2012 17:53 | Thanks willib2 - I honestly didn't know that it was illegal for an individual to do this! I suppose that was probably naive of me..but there you go, not afraid to admit I don't know something. I haven't got any kids to point these things out to me :) 200k after hours sell @ 9.62p P.S. It wasn't me selling today!:)) Not selling any of my shares for a while yet. | ![]() the count of monte_cristo |
