11/4/2012 07:25 | Hinoba-an report out, looks good to me, hopefully they will sell the project for around 200M US$ and use the cash to a) develop Basay and b) acquire more projects or assets in other copper/gold companies, such as Crazy Horse resources. Current copper price is US$3.65/lb, a near 50,000 tonnes per annum copper producing mine is medium in scale and will attract a) The Chinese/Koreans or b) Majors such as Glencore, Anglo, Rio, BHP, ext. The CTR forecasts average annual production of 47,665tonnes of copper over a 15.4 year mine life for the Project. Based on the Company's internal projections, at a US$3.00/lb copper price, the Hinoba-an Project has a before tax NPV (at 10%) of US$479 million and the IRR on post-tax, post-financing cash flow is estimated at 36.3%. An updated JORC compliant Mineral Resource for the Hinoba-an Project is expected to be announced next month. | ![]() the count of monte_cristo

10/4/2012 10:29 | Bit surprised that the company have reported this latest small set of results from just 4 holes (no results from 1 hole) at Basay considering they have 5 rigs on site working 24hrs a day. Oh well, news flow is good. | baffins

10/4/2012 00:08 | Exciting week ahead with the release of the Hinoba-an report that is due which will hopefully include the new resource statement. This will aid the planned sale or JV of the project. For quick reference we are looking for an increase of the existing gross figures of 319.3mt at 0.35% for 1,130,000 Cu tonnes at 0.2% cut off with 81% (258.2mt) of this resource in the "certain" measured and indicated categories. I know we have seen delays at the assay lab and should this continue it will reflect on the above. | baffins

02/4/2012 18:09 | volume not that large, so looks like PIs bailing, for whatever reasons. Worth remembering that there are something like 250 million shares in issue, which are tightly held, so any pressure on either the buying or selling can have a magnified impact on the share price. It is a similar thing with AFF (105m shares in issues) and GDP 160 odd million shares in issue. Today we saw the share price taken down on limited volume and a few sells. Long may it last is what I say! I hope the share price declines significantly for no other reason than shareholders are bored or selling for tax reasons...because these issues have absolutely nothing to do with the company and allow one to bargain hunt and pick up cheap stock. Of course it alters ones paper wealth, but this is imaterial if you are not intending to sell. IMHO. | ![]() the count of monte_cristo

29/3/2012 14:49 | ...in some ways tax only affects you if you start mining...and I do not think that this is ever the plan for CDC....the strategy is more like prove up resources and add shareholder value by exponentially increasing the resource base and then sell the project and move on. I am wondering what CDC would do with the cash funds if they sold Hinoba-an....of course they will use some of the funds to fast track the development of Basay, however one potential option with the excess cash would obviously be to acquire more projects or a stake in a more junior expo company...maybe they will eventually up there stake in Crazy Horse Resources... From the CDC company website; CDC also holds a strategic interest in Crazy Horse Resources Inc. (TSXV: CZH), which owns the Taysan Project, an advanced copper-gold porphyry deposit located 100 km south of Manila in the Philippines. The Taysan Project has an NI43-101 compliant inferred mineral resource of 944 million tonnes at 0.23% Cu and 0.11 g/t Au, containing 4,720 million pounds of copper and 3.3 million ounces of gold using a 0.10% Cu cut off. Further information on Crazy Horse Resources can be found on its website at www.crazyhorseresour | ![]() the count of monte_cristo
29/3/2012 14:05 | Much obliged CS. I do not believe they will impose anything too aggressive but it's a difficult one to call i.e. Australia proposed a 40% tax & even when watered down ended up with a hefty 30% hike. That being said, any possible large hike in tax may not even affect CDC & smaller exploration companies that much. I shall patiently await the outcome of the new proposlas first though :) | carpe diem007

29/3/2012 09:22 | CDC is a bit like AFF in this manner, and I suppose all stocks which have few shares in issue and are tightly held, when the sells come in it can trigger a disproportionate drop in the share price, and thus market capitalization of the company in comparison to the value of the sells....the same is true the other way when you get buying :) It is irrelevant if you are a long term holder, other than seeing your paper value decrease, the plus side is that if you have funds available you can obviously add to your holding at a cheaper level....which is what I am looking to do. Personally I would like to get to the 500,000 to 1million share holding level, I am a long way off this at the moment!! | ![]() the count of monte_cristo

28/3/2012 22:37 | CS - Cheers for sharing that. It's true mining law can change in any country but the proposals here do appear to be quite aggressive in nature. I shall continue to read up on the prospects here & wait until further forthcoming news comes out regarding this...which does appear to be imminent. Count - Very informative posts, appreciated. | carpe diem007 |
