Sometimes SPunter,I think you invest these Marketmakers with too much savvy .They really like to have a near square book at the end of the day. These geezers are not like the jobbers of old. They have a very short term horizon, enough to pay for a few Peronis and they'll take it,especially in these cash strapped days. You might be right but who can be sure.

That's part of the story, the other point, they want to keep the upward momentum going because they are totally aware of the short positions AND T trade positions too.

What you're saying is that the MMs have perhaps protected the selling client in part to work the balance at X price and thus have every incentive to run the stock up to maximise a book profit.

Quite frequently the MMs drop the bid substantially, in our case from 116 to 113 and the seller may have an an arrangement to sell at an agreed low say 115. The MMs being greedy will get as high a price as they can. Normally this affects T traders who generally have to sell at T3 but can with a good broker go to T1. We have seen on here so many rollovers, all of which are T traders, who can only roll it once, so become forced buyers or sellers. My definition of a large sell on CNR is between 25-100k. If it's a decent volume daily turnover, you'll see both trades reported at the end of the day, if not the higher number will be reported when the deal is closed. As you can see now they are knocking them out below full ask. The seller will get their agreed 115, but the MM will take 2p+ profit. Hence thare are no shortage of share yet from that MM anyway.

SP could be right, plan B from the marketmakers, run them up and sell stock into it.You won't see the print of the outsize sale for a day or two.Alternatively,it could just be more buyers than sellers of course!!

Its a Large buy order being filled imo. Dropped the share price to gain a few sellers.

I would be interested to hear the logic of how you have come to that conclusion (the large sell) share price
thanks

Looks like the MMs are trying to work a large sell. Someone profit taking perhaps on a T trade. Fair enough, but loads more to come IMO based on the facts.

MM's must be short of stock as there have been plenty of buys. Price being marked up to entice sellers, but i cant see many sells yet. It will be interesting to see how we finish today.
