Press coverage does appear more positive. I think just reflecting the good progress being made;

CoAL reports 'extremely positive quarter'

CoAL to rebrand, cut shares as fresh chapter opens with Uitkomst

should have been more specific not to create any ambiguity , apologies , the dilutions referred to was previously with the issue of new shares during the process of capital raise , this being the first consolidation , which undoubtedly should have been considered at a stage when the die hard thoroughly beaten up shareholders could have at least broken even , before being dragged on indefinitely once again

Explain to me how 20-1 consolidation is dilution please.

i don't believe anyone saw this coming , dilution after dilution after dilution with no value accreditation even in the presence of momentous achievements followed by a consolidation ! the chances of a 4-5 x rise in the share price post consolidation is a complete fantasy . the consolidation should have been proposed post achievement of fair valuation which would be easily attained , with such a good past year , by the second acquisition making CZA self sustainable . everything else has been sorted and the other smaller boxes could have ticked themselves. really poor foresight by the board or there is more than meets the eye here , but as it stand Et tu David Brown

Is the point that as a penny share it's more likely to spike higher intra-day than at a "sensible" price of around 50p? (Remember BZM and it's 600% intra-day rise?). Long term if the fundamentals are in place of course it could rise much higher.

As usual with these stocks you have to trade 'em to keep your sanity. Trade where possible and keep a core holding just in case it actually delivers. I've been let down too many times on these kind of shares to fully believe the story, I just hope "this time it's different".

Best of luck to all holders.

I agree , the bd have done everything
Promised recently , without affecting the share price.
Let’s hope they are right , and so improves after the changes. I have been a holder since the heady £2 days so I can wait a bit longer

Sorry Bozmo, but I think you are being extremely naïve.
I appreciate it will be the same market cap. but any significant buying will not have the impact that it would previously on a penny basis.

3p - 12p was quite possible.( a 300% gain)

At the consolidated price 60p...... Significant buying may raise it 50% to 90p, maybe even double it to £1.20.

Is that a fair return for all the pain Long term holders have endured.

As Benny says, past experience has always seen these situations get sold into.
It just gives the share further to fall.

Not a good move for current shareholders whichever way DB wants to spin it.

Not really. Same market cap and if they deliver then no reason for it to do so

Desperate act from a desperate board and management, I have never seen a consolidation add value, just makes it easier to sell down

Market cap is the same...The change will be attractive to institutional investors. The new company will be easier to market and gives the impression of a stronger company if higher market price. 2.8 billion shares currently out is not a good number. These don't necessarily drive the company forward on their own but when combined with continued execution over the next 9 months will be a positive overall.

At present - the share price is 3p to buy.
From memory, the Chinese invested and were given trillions of shares at 12p and 24p.

It is therefore not currently unreasonable to hope that the shareprice, given grounds for a decent recovery, could re-visit those prices.

It rose very quickly to 7p, on rumours of our calamitous bid for universal.

Once we get a 20-1 consolidation, our shareprice will become 60p.
It would need to then hit £2.40 and £4.80 to achieve comparative returns.....

Never seen it happen before, and there is nothing to indicate we would see it here.

David Brown and the BOD have stuck it to long term holders in a big way.
Unforgivable!

I believe they hope to lose the Australian listing at some point. Definitely been mentioned previously

At present the Company’s shares are listed on three
stock exchanges, the ASX, LSE and JSE, listings that
arose from the Company’s history. Maintaining all
three listings is unnecessarily costly and we shall
consider whether this can be rationalised without
adversely affecting our shareholders.

Hmmmmmmmmm

Let’s hope this decision is the start of a better share
So at 20-1 , I need a pound a share to
break even

Well a lot of funds and institutions can't invest in penny stocks. This will allow them to do so. Rebranding will help without question.

Oh consolidation should be shortened to con. Never have I seen any share I've been invested in ever go above the new conversion price. I assume it does happen somewhere but can't think of one off the top of my head. Just allows further manipulation. Glad I sold out a while back at a small loss.
Good luck guys.

It also takes the volatility out of the share price, and makes re-rates that much more difficult.

Our BOD seem determined to stick to long term holders!

"As a result of the momentous progress...."

WTF! Look at the share graph you w@nkers.....!

Thanks 2bozmo, very good for you to share this with us - I've been here nearly 10 years now and have a "shed load" of these shares since averaging down time to time from 176.75p

Must admit I have traded some during the last few years and made a nice profit on everything I have sold, but still have my core holding of 1/2 Mil;
