Worth bearing in mind given all the ESMA changes the last few years a lot of the smaller players would have disappeared leaving the likes of CMCX to clean up with the new business, it has taken sometime but it is starting to show in the share price.

Break of £2 is a 3 year breakout, so this has a way to go imo.

26.5p earnings forecast this year so 10x that's looks very possible short term, 15.8p next year, so guess it's whether you believe earnings will slump to that extent, looks a bit overly pessimistic and if it gets revised up on results and ongoing activity that might well be enough to see 300p and a modest rerating.

£3 looks to be initial target....the trading volumes have been huge the past couple of months so CMC would have raked it in.....

gbh2 . You comment that , earlier yesterday , there " was quite a bit of selling pressure here " . That might be due to some private investors here selling in order to buy in to our competitor , Plus 500 which announced fantastic results yesterday morning , but whose shares fell 2.75% on the day ( no doubt a case of " buy on the rumour , sell on the news " with Plus 500 ) . I am happy to hold both companies in the current market .

One of the strangest trading patterns I've ever come across, there was a long hiatus when sod all happened and then the share price jumped and sank, but the finish is all that counts, no complaints :)

Break of 200p could see 220p plus quite quickly. More to come here.

I picked up a few more at that price, I'm willing to wait for the dividend, if it's near 10p.

I've sliced a few as 200p was always my target price.. but I'm more prone to want to run the rest in the current climate.

I was tempted to sell at 209p to repurchase at a lower share price but I decided to hold and sell off a different investment, now waiting to see just how low this will go given that profit taking has always been popular towards the end of the Financial year.

Revenue Big Boost
Fri, 3rd Apr 2020 08:03Alliance News
(Alliance News) - Well, at least someone is doing well.

Online trading firm CMC Markets said Friday net trading revenue has been strong over its financial year ended March 31, especially in the last quarter due to a rise in market activity.

CMC said contract-for-difference revenue nearly doubled to GBP214 million, while its stockbroking business also is set to report doubled annual revenue, to GBP32 million.

CMC reaffirmed its policy of paying a total annual dividend of 50% of post-tax profit.

"At CMC we have focused rigorously on our strategic priorities and feel that the benefit of this focus has started to come through in our performance this year which demonstrates a step change from where we were 12 months ago," said Chief Executive Officer Peter Cruddas.

He added: "Notwithstanding the uncertainty we remain confident in the outlook for 2021 as we progress with our numerous strategic growth initiatives. We're not reliant on a sustained period of high volatility in markets, but our well-invested platform, technical expertise and diversified offering supports us delivering sustainable results not just now but also in years to come."

CMC Markets shares were up 1.7% early Friday in London.
