06/5/2016 12:57 | Its a waiting game, if your here till the end couple of pennies here and their doesn't matter. Its boom or bust...But if you are hear spread betting bit more of a dangerous play.... | neo26
06/5/2016 12:52 | usual MO, RNS out, run the price up, attract in a few punters, then take it down again, works every time. Punters now locked in because of the spread. | andy
06/5/2016 12:32 | Agm went smoothly, the waiting game begins let's see who blinks first.....Its taken over a year to get to this stage of the forgery case.Does anyone know if someone is working on those mines at present.. | neo26
06/5/2016 11:23 | Changing the subject slightly, today we have started light blue, maybe we finish deep blue? | stephen1946
06/5/2016 10:44 | Well there must have been plenty for them to talk about once the formalities were over. I wonder if the major shareholders will be going home feeling cautiously optimic? | debbiegee
06/5/2016 10:38 | General meeting is a case in point, nothing but the bare necessessities. Why not slip in a mediatory tone? | stephen1946
06/5/2016 10:36 | Well, looks like we'll have progress in a few weeks now. With hindsight, and now they have coughed up, the actions of ROI regarding the non payment of fees are consistent with a party to a litigation / arbitration trying to soften the other side up before engaging in settlement discussions. Ie "look at us - we can turn off the cash when we like and leave you to do it the hard way..." Perhaps followed by "Here's an offer you can take to the bank now". A carrot and stick approach, if you will. We'll see - and if not no problem. ICSID can do the job for us. It might be quiet for a bit, but it looks like a very interesting summer ahead for the CHL longs. GLA FC | flyingc
06/5/2016 10:34 | Theorb, the tricky part here, imho, is getting the two parties to, "Tango" D.Q. seems like a sir philip green character, not a shrinking violet and not a man to cross but also these people are difficult to engage with and will see making the first move, as weak. I am talking from having read articles about D.Q. i have no personal experience to form a definate opinion, if i am correct, i sincerely hope that CHL are keeping the door open and have made it clear to ROI that, that door is open and that CHL are always willing to discuss options. | stephen1946
06/5/2016 10:13 | weegeodie, Sorry to confuse things with my error. GL | theorb
06/5/2016 10:10 | Stephen, I sincerely hope you are right and I was for a long time on balance expecting an out of court agreement with the new ROI government however if this was being discussed I wonder how it has been kept secret for so long, especially as it would be so easy for relatives and friends of ROI negotiators to be given a nod and wink to buy CHL shares, surely the rewards would be too great to not do this? It is a bit worrying however that governments such as UK are going out of their way to create trade with countries like ROI despite so many current cases of corruption and atrocious businesses practice and it may just be that trade deals with such countries are seen as,on balance, in the UK's interests and if we delay,we will be overtaken by other countries like China who dont have the high principles that we like to think we have. | theorb
06/5/2016 10:00 | theorb - I am sure you meant ROI refuses to pay instead of Churchill - in your last paragraph! WG | weegeordie
06/5/2016 09:38 | Im not saying its gonna happen overnight but it surely looks like we will know where we stand at the very latest this year. For investors this certainly looks like good risk reward play. | debbiegee
06/5/2016 09:23 | Late 50k thats what made the share price go up | debbiegee
06/5/2016 09:21 | ICSID saying "progress is being made on forgery" what does this mean? ROI and CHL lawyers knows the outcome. ICSID is being more fair and giving hints to ROI that one must settle this issue and you do not want to publish the disregads;treatments the ROI superime court decision compare to outcome decision of ICSID. If u want to trade internationaly one must behave. Hence theyre giving more time to settle. So i think settlement could come any time may be before June. | bobic
06/5/2016 09:13 | Orb, conversely, the last months trade talks in europe were so productive, the ROI have decided, that to fight this to a conclusion, lose, and be branded cheats and liars is not worth the risk. Settlement dispenses with full disclosure and no loss of honour. Just my thoughts on this game of chess. | stephen1946
06/5/2016 08:40 | ROI are playing within the rules. Maybe arrogant, maybe giving a bad impression etc etc but unless they are breaking the rules their actions will not be allowed to influence the result. Some may feel emotional about the way ROI is playing the game but the tribunal will have to deal with facts not emotions. I cannot see that the ROI's recent trade talks in London would have been influenced by CHL events because whilst arbitration is in progress governments should respect this process rather than lobbying by shareholders. If CHL come out on top at the end of the arbitration and Churchill refuses to pay then that is the time our Government is most likely to put the pressure on, however ROI may still delay by playing within the rules. | theorb
06/5/2016 08:33 | Quinliven did not speak as if things were now gonna be delayed. He said " We are pleased that the ruling is close" He has never said that before and always been cautious | debbiegee
06/5/2016 08:23 | everything is possible ! Until now we have never even dreamt of the next twist | debbiegee
06/5/2016 08:14 | I do agree Ross but there is the possibility that ROI will want to avoid the publication by ICSD of a forensic dissection of their actions in the forgery story and will act first. | pug151
06/5/2016 05:12 | Quite - at the very earliest July and IMV more likely September for a published decision on the forgery case. No settlement either until CHL gets the forgery result it wants to negotiate a deal from a strong position. I don't doubt that both parties want a deal by the way. ~ 250m$ compensation looks about right to me from various metrics - if CHL wants much more than that ROI will string the process out - far too much loss of face which is everything in this neck of the woods. Still a hold for me but some posters here are being unrealistic in their time frames IMV. | ohisay
05/5/2016 23:23 | Just guessing but ISCID couldn't have been too cheery with ROI but as it's a country limited options to give them a slap Hence the threat and ROI pay up under duress (hence no accompaying note) Got a feeling all parties Cameron, Aus etc feeling a bit embarrassed that this is taking the gloss off their very best new friends Had a quiet word.. Settlement and handshakes all round is the most likely outcome (and some VERY forced smiles for the camera) | reesyheli
05/5/2016 22:22 | This has settlement preparation written all over it. Reesy virtually says it all. | stephen1946 |
