05/6/2003 09:57 | Anyone out there? These shares seem to be showing some life & edging up nicely - tho a long way to go for me! I imagine results are out relatively soon, I wonder if thats why they are moving in anticipation? Any suggestions? | scrapheap
05/2/2003 21:07 | How low can this one go? I think the board should have pulled the plug on all their technology investments a year or so ago. This is the result. If it goes to 10p I might jump in on this one. Nice company, other than their disastrous foray into technology companies. Any views? | simonevans
05/12/2002 15:26 | Rchive could benefit from the five big banks not properly archiving their e-mail and receiving large fine. This should focus minds, we do afterall have a best of breed in this area...fully encripted etc. etc. | capt bligh
23/11/2002 08:42 | No dividend. Too much money being invested in Mailstore. No financial results presented for Rchive it so they must have been poor. Heading down to 30p-40p if you ask me. If Mailstore was so good then why have they not been able to get outside investors in? Pulling the plug on Rchive it in 6m time will seriously dent net assets and future dividend prospects. In my view they should have demerged it by now, raised some cash and left it to either sink or swim! As always DYOR. | simonevans
30/8/2002 19:02 | Large mark down in the asking price today, from 65-58. The yield is currently 12%, Can they maintain this? Worth some more research? EDIT No Simon Not the city of London I had in mind, the one I had in mind from previous research was (CTY). | 8 ball
30/8/2002 18:43 | Chart looks bad news! Too much invested in technology ventures!!.....if assume no value, then shares are worth less than 50p. I can't understand why the price has stayed around a £ for so long. As always DYOR! | simonevans
24/7/2002 18:22 | Is anyone going to the AGM on Thursday 25th? | rossco
13/11/2001 00:01 | Great RNS today. Two of their babies look really promising. Market cap laughable when you consider that a fair percentage of the price is underwritten by conventional investments. | capt bligh
24/5/2001 10:57 | These are just so volatile - announcement today has made them rocket I thought results were due soon so strange that they are making this announcement on its own | clueless
01/5/2001 14:57 | Apparently some bloke Goldstein ? in the Sundays who runs a portfolio doubled his holding. I hold, but I would be suprised if the results were that fantastic. However ECEurope seems to be going from strength to strength as does archiveit.com . It should be the first incubator to recover.... in my book recovery is £3. | capt bligh
01/5/2001 14:18 | Something happening here - up 50% in 2 days - not sure what | clueless
19/3/2001 09:23 | Unfortunately the market in this one is dire currently.I went to buy some more last week at 105p and found you could only sell 2500 but buy 25000 or more! This will limit any upside for a while,as was seen by todays short lived rise. Still look good buy long term but may go lower first. | argy2
19/3/2001 09:08 | YlessPE No problems with ECEurope, the company has just announced record number of hits in February.Interesting Microsoft deal for 49.9% affiliate R-chive it.com also announced. But news does not seem to matter anymore!!! Trytt | trytt
19/3/2001 08:58 | Two interesting announcements today. One concerning Microsoft and another concerning new records for ECEurope. Trytt | trytt
14/3/2001 12:29 | It dropped 10p first thing this morning on general negative tech sentiment and the appearance of one seller of 1,500 shares. Then the price recovered almost all losses in the afternoon on sustained buying. The further they fall (and in this market that could be anywhere)the better value they would seem to be as the company has not bet the bank on the internet and has lots of alternative investments. I agree that they will benefit greatly from a change in sentiment in the tech sector, when that eventually happens. I could not resist a small purchase today at 105p to tuck away for the long term in my PEP. DYOR Trytt | trytt
13/3/2001 17:37 | Tempting, very tempting. But why the big drop today? Problems with ECeurope? | ylesspe
13/3/2001 15:28 | I have just joined you by purchasing a few this morning at 105p. Looks good with a final divi of probably around 4.5p on a yield basis the price must be underpinned at this level. With their sensible internet / digi media investments ready to IPO over the next 18 months any change in sentiment and these should be a winner IMHO. Their listed investments appear to have held up quite well over the last six months as well. One to watch patiently. Paul | pdt
22/2/2001 13:52 | This looks a better buy at 122P. The dividend (which I believe to be secure) is now over 5% and PE about 20. This should be a reasonable price for an innovative company with good management in this sector. Other opinions? | energyi
14/2/2001 00:43 | Trytt, I agree with most of what you say and I also think that mining shares may show a recovery one day soon (eternal optimist that I am) However, "eceurope.com... apparently one of the top internet sites in the world" I'm not so sure. I know it won awards, but have you looked at it? I was very unimpressed. A lot of garbage for sale IMHO. But maybe I'm missing something. I hope so, since I plan to buy some shares on the next dip | energyi
09/2/2001 01:52 | Or could anybody else ? Or will it lead to the poorhouse? The City of London Group (CIN) that is! Not to be confused with an investment trust of a similiar name. This stock seems to be a mini-conglomerate with something for everyone. It has substantial holdings in 3 internet companies including www.eceurope.com apparently one of the top internet sites in the world and the largest B2B e-marketplace on the net, some mining companies (mainly Australian) (for Mr. Ashley James), and a bunch of other retail and sundry investments, oh and also a PR and media subsidiary. Although the chart looks like that of an internet stock, there is clearly a lot more to this company than just the internet. Take a look at the website, www.cityoflondonpr.c The big questions are, did this share bottom out at 110p a couple of weeks ago? Is it a good recovery stock? Or will it test the low again and even go on falling? I don't know, but I am watching it closely, as this company seems to feel more substantial than your average dot.com. dyor Trytt | trytt
18/1/2001 14:46 | Has anyone any thoughts on why they have dropped so much recently. Thanks in advance | maglite
16/11/2000 00:20 | Brilliant announcement...greet | capt bligh
13/10/2000 16:09 | High Clueless I know...I am hurting. Clutching at straws: but by the way did you see that the e-encription business that CIN have a small piece of ( 5gm) has shelved its plans for a float and a trade sale is being fixed up at the original projected float price of 100mill. Cin's stake worth 1.4 mill. EVC have a bigger chunk. and if it works make 14mill. | capt bligh |
