Sorry, but why anyone would PAY these people to invest their money beggars belief. Profit all but wiped out by admin charges. A random selection from the 2010 TMF competition would have got you a 35% return at no charge.......

Didn't like the latest investment in St. Helen's Finance new entity. Not sure they have learnt their lesson on start-up investments. Too risky, so I'm out.

Somebody nibbling again today. Quite volatile this company - moves up on small purchases.

This all looks quite interesting. It looks like their original flotation plans of a third party fund were delayed or canned, but lots of publicity on the management team so maybe a 2010 deal is likely.

Only just noticed the news before christmas of the investment in Therium Capital Management Limited. Looks interesting. Shares responding by ticking up further. Wonder what else the new management team have in store?

Probably positive news that the bid is off. Seems to have reasonable prospects as a standalone business.

Some encouraging news here.
New management team.
Prospect of a dividend at the full year with deficit on distributable reserves resolved.
Cash of £1.3m.
Possible offer still in the background.
NAV 79p.

They made some great Aussie coal seam investments a year or two ago which have yielded enormous profits.

Shame they were stupid enough to invest a £m or so in ARC which was a pile of rubbish from day 1 and was run by a bunch of what I believe to be very suspect individuals. Anyway things looking up. The Munro Fund is loss making, but is a good idea for the prudent investor.

Encouarged to hold these until we get a better exit or some more exciting opportunities.

Anyone seen todays announcement - interesting indeed! Nice vehicle potentially for someone here to use as a financial company investment vehicle. NAV must be well over 70p now as well given the strong run of late. I'm back into profit on this one which is nice.

Interim results were ok, except the dividend cut which was a shame. The investment in ARC Fund Management was a bit of a disaster. Renwick Haddow seems to have convinced Lord Ashcroft and COLG to buy a pile of rubbish with an FSA authorisation for lots of money. Looks like they were had!

Interesting move into Arc Fund Management. I wouldn't have expected Lord Ashcroft or COLG to invest here. They must have seen something that we are not yet aware of!

Not terribly impressed with the PR business sale, which has been sold for £400k (£300k now) + £300k contingent on performance. This is a pretty low price given last year COLG PR business generated £106k of profit (£121k the year before). It seems to me that the buyer gets more out of this than COLG and it may have been better to retain a stake in the enlarged business that could have been floated on PLUS or something. Oh well, I guess the management team are close to retirement and options were limited. Looks like they at least get free rent for a year and some extra cash will boost NAV. I guess this marks the end of the old business and the start of the new.

All very quiet here. Update in the week was relatively bullish. These have dropped from c140p to the 70's and look interesting again now.

Up we go again. Someone definitely likes their latest strategic move. It will be interesting to see what happens here in 2007.
