Yes as many world wide companies due to covid 19,
but to target companies with the hope of fail is
sad, no emotion involved but just sad individuals.

What if they do not, some US technology companies lose
money but are valued in the $bn's.

Wanting a company to fail, really.

Sad, very sad in my opinion.

1H, But do you believe that Cineworld will make a profit in 2021 ? We already know that Cineworld declared a loss of $576.4 Million before tax in the first half of 2021.

LTH,
Thanks for pointing out that even as we are currently only half way through month of October it is rather fantastic and encouraging for the future that we are already the second highest grossing month since re-opening.
Bodes well for continued recovery don't you agree? :-)
I firmly believe next year will record profits again as EVERY single year in the companies history has shown (under normal times).
Don't you think there will be profits next year?
Great to see companies that have negotiated their way through one of the toughest times in history see their businesses grow again providing much needed employment for many and a great outlet for many more to do something they enjoy.
Don't you agree it's excellent to have some positivity after most difficult time for millions? :-)

1H, we are only half way through October in case you had not noticed. I thought that Bond would do better in the US than it appears to have done. Do you believe that Cineworld will make a profit in 2021 ?

Whether the figures are good or bad the point I find unsettling
is that people seem to be happy if the figures are bad.
Aren't we suppose to want success?

Or are the doomers just pimps for the shorters wanting to assist
in another purchase of a UK company on the cheap.

Really sad individuals comes to mind.

Netflix buying cinemas. Interesting. $900,000,000 from Squid games. Wonder if they will be looking at undervalued Cinema Companies with Worldwide reach to put out their own content alongside big studio releases in the future.Netflix takes over Bay Theater at Caruso's Palisades VillageNetflix will use the theater, part of Rick Caruso's Palisades Village retail-restaurant-residential complex, to host special events, screen classic films and showcase its own original theatrical films.

LTH,
Seems I missed the part where ANY of your reply spoke of the subject of October box office.

IH. The US movie theaters total revenues have missed cineworld's base case scenario figures (as a % of 2019) every month up to and including September. Cineworld borrowed another $200 Million in July. They agreed to pay the dissenting shareholders $170 million in September and another $92 Million by march 2022. The movies no longer have the 'legs' that they used to pre covid.

LTH How much is it hurting you to realise you will now have to admit this month will be in the predicted range of the business model? ;-)
Highest comparative percentage month since pandemic.
Highest box office since pandemic and approaching pre pandemic levels for the MONTH ;-)

The total US box figures for bond last long weekend are not great. According to boxofficemojo they are lower than both the venom movie weekend (Oct 1-3, not a long weekend) and the labour day weekend (sep 3-6) with the Shang-Chi movie.

Yes quite correct the very well educated hedge funds managers
do not use their knowledge for good instead of ruining the
share price of UK companies for the inflated US paper.

Venom UK release Friday, Dune 22nd. Dune has done over $100 million RoW prior to US and UK release so looking promising as well.

Are there any indications when the Canadian court will give a verdict on the Cineplex Inc claim ?

Debt distress is never fully reflected in the equity price because of the option component. Also the lower the market cap of an instrument the less efficient the market as the most sophisticated investors simply cannot participate (in any direction). The least financially educated investors have literally, literally, no concept of the capital structure. So whether debt is in the share price is moot in my opinion.
