If the ROI made a 'derisory offer', you would see this share price race ahead on the basis that they had conceded Churchill have a case against them.

Indonesia has now Re-joined Opec, that other well known advocate of fair play. Maybe ROI needed to brush up on its bullying skills.

Tom,

as Weegeordie correctly says,it has no bearing here because they are two entirely separate cases in different countries.

But I would expect the same sort of delaying tactics to be used, either to try and run CHL out of funds, or as a method of reducing the cost for an 'early' agreement,.

This is no different to UK insurance companies make derisory offers in the hope you will grab the money,or they make you wait if you dispute it and ask for more.

Orb,

You are of course entirely correct, the trick is to try and time any entry, and we both know that is very difficult to do, i have failed many times over the ears with various stocks, although had one or two successes along the way too.

I just think the price is falling because the hot money senses no relevant news for a while, and will move onto other gambles in the meantime.

They will return to CHL when they think news is coming.....

it can indeed daddy i accept that a settlement may come at anytime, but without going into the same things over and over again feel the Indonesians will play this out. That is my opinion!
The difference is i respect your opinion and those who hold the same one. Where Debbie respects no one or their opinion unless they are singing from her and her many alias songbook.
This thread has improved dramatically since she created the other one with people of differing opinions on the conclusion now talking sensibly on this one.

Just come back in so apologies for not replying earlier. I can understand what you meant now re the timing of your post. When I read it, the mid price had gone up, which seemed to contradict what you were saying. As in many of today's conversations, it is the timing which is important. Things can change very quickly.

Some of the order books are wafer thin.

If one bid/offer is taken out it can make quite a bit of difference to the share price, on a very small trade.

Canada, being an order driven system is even worse than London in that regard.

I always value my holdings on the bid price.

I agree it might take much longer to finally settle, but an RNS on the recent court events may see a significant re-rating by itself. The funding issue has been discussed here before. Churchill can raise money if necessary - resulting in some dilution. But still a good potential upside in any event. The directors have chosen to forego their salaries and have taken options instead, signalling their confidence in the final outcome. I, like many others, am prepared to wait, however long it takes. Gaming the share price in the interim is too much like hard work and would be very stressful.

I would ask for a refund on that level 2 subscription. It doesn't appear to be working.

Orb is right - when the news comes it will be too late. Either you are in it or not.
---------------------------------------------------------

Agree with that Baxter, but that surely is a given already?
The debate is not about the outcome, more of the timing and tactics used by the Indonesians to secure the lowest payout.
I would ventilate the opinion they will want to make CHL as weak as possible by continued legal expense and procedures even long ongoing talks on settlement that would continually drain the funds and force CHL into taking a lower payout a year or so down the line.
Obviouly CHL could refuse and raise more cash, and await the decision, 2 years from now, but would the existing shareholders want to pay out more and risk everything or take a smaller settlement.

The problem for CHL is that their accounts and cash position are public. That is a major weakness.

You clearly are here to try and disrupt this new friendly board, so i will not play along.

Orb is right - when the news comes it will be too late. Either you are in it or not. Great potential here but not guaranteed. And a very very slim chance of out of court settlement before December.

evil doc...

as you said :

"be wanting to buy and tie my capital up for the next two years?"

if this is the case why are you wasting your time on this board? if you have no capital interest in this....I have heard this before me personally looking forward to some news soon the ducks are all lined. Are you a trader looking to make a quick buck on any news?

btw - I am invested and have been for a few years, and looking forward to the outcome.

just a waiting game.
