Look, CHAR do not have enough cash to do a drill on their own.

That leaves a placing or a farmm-in.

Larry has zero intention of farming in a partner.

Char Mckcap---£36.12Million

Cash at 31/12/2012----£43.07Million---Debt Free.

So the Mckcap doesn't even cover cash in bank.So no value attached to any of the blocs in Namibia/Morocco/Mauritania.The HRT drill doesn't affect Morocco/Mauritania,so we can discount those.So we are left with Namibia.Wingat is the first well to be drilled in the central blocs,so we can discount any effect on Northern/Southern blocs.

So out of all Char's acreage,we are now down to Wingat affecting just the Central blocs,Re source rocks etc.How much potential success is built into Char's present Mckcap of £36.12Million???NIL imo,therefore at NO COST TO CHAR,there should be minimal falls due to the lack of commercial Oil at Wingat.That's not to say traders won't cry like babies should Wingat be dry and try and gain some traction,but the second well at Murombe will follow on quickly from Wingat,plus the valuable data gained from Wingat will aid future wells.

But should Wingat be commercial,it would instantly up the ante for Char's upcoming Farm Outs of the Central Blocs.This how I came to the conclusion that a Wingat non commercial well will have little downside affect on Char's share price as there is no financial loss and the data gained will aid future wells and farm outs.

This was a smoke screen put out as roomer by the guys in Rio.

HRT are indeed drilling a well in Brazil. It is called HRT 11.
Drilling on it has stoped, but no announcement on what has been found has been made.

The theory is that it is a duster, and the HRT share price will tank on the news.

Again, the theory is, that to stop the share price tanking, they will release the bad news on HRT 11 and the good news on Namibia, at the same time.

This theory assumes good news from Namibia.

It doesn't work like that. You can't argue that CHAR will soar if HRT hits, but there will be no effect if they don't. If the former is true then there will be people valuing CHAR on the possibility of an HRT hit, but if HRT don't that falls out of the valuation, and of course it will fall, short term at least.

It's certainly true that CHAR will benefit from HRT's drill whatever the result, from better understanding of the geology, but there will still be a hit if it's dry/inconclusive etc.

Have you ever heard of nav? It stands for net asset value. Our only liquid asset is cash. Plent of companies in trouble are valued at 50% below nav.

And yes, I am a long term shareholder. I met Tarles at an oil barrel conference last year and even asked welch a few questions.....

Anyway,3 day break here in UK so any shorts/sellers will be wide open if HRT have hit Oil and they announce it over the May Day holiday.

I can't see how Char can lose at nil cost.

O and BTW its HRT drilling not Char.

Some trying to use the HRT share price to bash Char with.

15 more wells to go after this one with large Farmouts from Char in Namibia/Mauritania thrown in.

Also we are trading at less than CASH,not £1.50p/£3,so nothing built in pre HRT drill.

Some would be deramping if the share price was .01p ffs.
