HRT awaits data field on the coast of Namibia

HRT should get even Sunday night about the completion of the drilling of the first oil field off the coast of Namibia, said company president Marcio Rocha Mello. The oil company has 12 oil blocks in the country.

"Probably today (Sunday) night we will have the information that the first field and I am quite optimistic," said the executive. "But even if we do not find there, we'll find the other three we are working. Reports pointing out that we have a chance to find oil for commercial production in one of these fields is between 25% and 35%. Since we are working in four fields, we have everything to succeed at this stage. "

Hmmm, wonder if the bid bond has been delivered, if so how much?, like the report says where is all the money coming from. Could be a few RNS's this week, with a bit of luck the shareprice will rally.

Brazil:
if Chariot can afford to bid then go figure...they must be confident they can raise the money.

Morocco:
- look at the potential upside on the Moroccan acreage alone - min 10 bagger on strike.

Mauritania:
is warming up nicely.

And Namibia - well - with all that drillin and other drillers lining up plans its just a matter of time.

All giants - only needs ONE well in any license blocks in any region to strike to be a 10+ bagger.

An exciting, risky punt on energy

One of my favourite energy stocks is Brazilian explorer HRT (traded in New York, Canada, and Brazil). Now, before I explain HRT's merits, please be aware that this is a high risk investment. It's an explorer - as of yet, there's no production, and hence, no cash flow. But if (as I expect), things go well, this stock could provide cover on the three fronts I've just talked about.

The first point is that HRT is currently drilling one of the last great frontiers in the traditional offshore oil industry, in west Africa. The world desperately needs more traditional, low environmental impact oil production.

Shareholders have waited a long time for HRT to begin the Namibian campaign. But as you read this, the drill bit is turning. HRT is in the middle of drilling the first of four wells. Right now, it's just over 2,800 metres down... and it's going to 4,600m. According to the independent oil certifier Degolyer & MacNaughton, there's a 24% chance of hitting 1.3 billion barrels. The next three wells have a similar chance of success, but with even more oil potential.

Like I have said before, this is no fly-by-night operation. This is a serious company with serious weight in the industry. In Mello's words, Namibia could transform HRT into "the world's most important independent oil company." Exciting times... but please let me reiterate. This is a high risk, high reward investment. As of today, the company has no cash-flow... but fantastic aspirations. Tread carefully!

With regards to HRT's drill:
Nacoma should be passed this weekend, which sits circa ~3700-3800m. Revised TD of 4600m should be reached 12th May based on 80mpd.
In reality, a slower drillbit and logging will take this drill to 25th May (the original 60day drill estimate)

Total depth in the article is different from the total projected depth on spud in news release for wingat.
Water depth is 1,034 meters
depth after 22 days 2,800 meters
reservoirs are expected to be encountered at approx 3,950 meters below sea
level and projected TD 4,100 meters.
So 1,766 meters was drilled in 22 days - about 80 meters a day.
If they continue drilling at the same speed they could be at 3,360 meters
today, so possibly reach the reservoir in about 7 days?

Don't expect it to look 'textbook' all of the time. Your wave 1&2 can easily be A&B, with a 5w 'C' to follow to make up your overall 3w. Wave 1's sometimes extend (as opposed to the thought it will normally be wave 3 or 5 that will...)

'C' waves can easily extend typically upto 261.8% of wave 'A'. Also get used to counting things in 3's and using more minor 'X' waves.

even primary targets... i cant see that they would announce primary targets being hit if the drill only takes just over a month... they would leave it all till total target depth... besides doing wireline logs happen after drilling the entire hole right, or have i got it wrong... so still all to play for...
