Qatari investments were mentioned in the Sunday Times article.
The wholesale purchase CNA would give the largest Gas producer a direct route to market.

Many deals being looked at by Conn at this moment.
It is potential for corporate action that makes CNA interesting punt.

Under conn and is clown directors the value of cna as fallen from 14b to 5 b And they have been rewarded millions of free shares It's a disgrace the remuneration committee should be charged with corruption

God help us if they try and sell off the family jewels I can only agree with #20239, lost and confused has suitably encapsulated the problem.

6b shares at 12p 720m in divs plus 2b in cash buying back shares at under 90p would see debt gone and reduction of years in two years lThat makes sense ,

Agree. In two minds about Spirit as Conn seems to suggest one minute it's hitting their cash flow targets but volumes are forecast to be lower but it's profitable so who knows what's in his little head. As for North America would be a total disaster IMO if they offload that in preference to UK Home, crazy but wtfdik.

We all new that the div must be cut ,The div should be stopped and use the cash to pay off all the debt And then reduce the shares in issue no more scrips ever again It would only take two years to do this

If these rumours are true, I don't really get it. Selling off all the profitable and unregulated parts, to leave us with the regulated parts, declining customer base and small profits (If lucky). Doesn't seem feasible to me unless Conn has completely lost the plot

Spirit adjusted operating profit last year was £337m and they said:"We are also focused on improving the performance and sustainability of the Spirit Energy portfolio, while limiting Centrica's exposure to the sector and creating options for the future."Perhaps farm out/s rather than offloading as it's profitable and cash generative but high Capex.......and higher risk due to poo. Be interesting to see what Conn will say next week.

Yesterday's article was nothing new with regards to divi cut, the rest was pure speculation with zero comment from CNA. Do think offloading Spirit could be a distinct possibility though. How much?
