Quite optimistic this will head up to the 130p mark before going xdiv. Paying such a high div payment, investors won't be able resist buying in. Trying to be a bit more positive here chaps,no good just running it down unless your going short. If you don't like the share move on and pick one you do like !

Timing when to cut the divi and to inform market is key...it has to coincide with some sort of trading news update or on results day...Conn has lost touch with reality like most CEOs of mega companies...had ample opportunity to do that much earlier when price was trading around 150p...

Yeah good point, so it would be a much bigger loss!

this 10 would not have been the top 10 yielders a year ago, which is indeed since they have performed badly. so what were the top 10 yielders a year ago and how did they perform?

DiscoDave4
can you post the data?

Morning logician,According to Beta and risk grading CNA is not the least risky, far from it.

So if you'd invested across the board your portfolio would be down 7% on the year including divi's!

that is an incredible diversified portfolio yielding 9%, with gilt yields at just 1%. However, on individual basis, i would put CNA as the least risky. most of the others have high leverage or exposure to high risk areas.

Highest paying yields in the FT 100, often it's high because the share price has dropped a lot,and there is no guarantee it will pay that amountEVR Evraz 15.04 %PSN. Going on their interims, total energy use per customer was up 8% (assume this was due to extreme cold weather, the Beast, in Q1).So about £305m extra income due to the Beast from the East, less service/operational extra cost, gives net gain of about £222m..........which won't see this year.

Now DD I'm no bully but when I see it I'll expose that bully for who they are. You've been giving some poor guy a hard time in Debenhams and he's probably lost all his dough and yes I'll admit that he does post up some rubbish from time to time but what the hell. You've been exposed in your SPD post and you seem to have a tendency to prey on peoples misfortune. I can take these hits because I've been lucky enough to have accumulated some money over the years but others are not so lucky and may feel that pain when positions don't go their way.You have the right to reply but obviously you can't because you've filtered me ???

A friendly word of advice before I slope of for the weekend. If I sold out of these on Monday a certain poster might not care so much for CNA!!!???Hate to see you spend your time and effort with someone that may not be then genuine article.Good luck and I hope one day we can all prosper from CNA and I truly believe that if the unthinkable was to happen and they were to hit a quid or lower then that would be the final step down and would then start to recover and will definitely be on someone's radar.Good weekend

Divi is actually closer to 700m for the full year. I hate to say it but I think a cut would be a sensible decision, if only for a year or two. They need to reduce debt or the number of shares in issue before raising it again.

Sounds like you've had a small result with that one. I've often found myself in that position but if you have the cash and can afford to hold then it'll come good eventually. Just finished my 15k run a feel good. Party tonight, hangover tomorrow!! Lol

No, quite one hopefully. Busy all last week, the house I worked on looked brand new when I had finished. Sold Lloyds last week at 66.07p, looks like I sold at the right time and made 811 pound, at least it was not a loss. I had been stuck with them for 10 months, they went down from day 1, and at Christmas time I was down on paper 11,500 pound, so it made a good recovery. Dropped quite a bit since Monday. Confident CNA will make a recovery, with that juicy dividend 8.4p I think this will rise well again

......you keep ignoring their cash burn, only 8 months on a like-for-like basis and £350m reduction to come.
