25/2/2019 14:50 | Thank you whatsup. | mitchy
25/2/2019 14:45 | Isn't this just the news from about 3 months ago that caused NG to drop to 760 before rebounding recently? Ie no effect on suppliers (unless I'm missing something) | lostandconfused
25/2/2019 14:37 | Perhaps its the fact that fairly often ? :-) | skinny
25/2/2019 14:34 | Skinny , did I read too much into that article ?. I thought it was relevant, suprised no movement on NG price . I accept it’s a consultation but still.... | whatsup32
25/2/2019 14:25 | NG hasnt moved so maybe I’m over estimating it’s possible effect. I thought next target is CNA. SSE etc. ? | whatsup32
25/2/2019 14:21 | It also says :- "Ofgem said: “If we conclude that companies are adequately financeable without such a mechanism, it may not be introduced.” | skinny
25/2/2019 14:19 | Ofgem admits lower returns may mean companies have less headroom over their cost of debt to deal with unexpected problems. Networks that receive cash which would be charged via customers bills will have up to 10 years to pay back | whatsup32
25/2/2019 14:14 | ofgem draws up plans for a ‘bail out’ plan for the large monopolies that run electricity and gas networks which would see consumers provide potentially unlimited money to companies that run into unexpected financial difficulties and could not make debt repayments. Ofgem proposes slashing roughly half the amount network companies such as NG, cadet gas, northern gas networks who own the pipelines and cables that deliver ..be able to pay investors from 2021 | whatsup32

25/2/2019 12:09 | whatsup - can't read the FT article. Can you give us a synopsis? | mitchy
25/2/2019 11:36 | Can this be the reason why CNA have not cut dividends. Maybe they sense a compulsory cut by ofgem and want to keep it high as long as poss | whatsup32
25/2/2019 11:19 | Hmmmm - interesting link. | skinny
25/2/2019 11:15 | This is a must read. Ofgem consults on plans for energy networks bailout schemes. After 2021 payouts by national Grid to investors to be halved | whatsup32
25/2/2019 11:12 | I've sold most of mine today. I just don't see where any growth will come from. The customer numbers are in decline and will probably continue that way. The cap is going to limit any profits (though it may discourage customers from leaving if all the tarrifs are the same). The dividend is clearly unsustainable. I took the hit, there are better co's out there that have a sustainable decent dividend. Can't see any reason why anyone would make a bid. | dr biotech
25/2/2019 08:58 | diku buy now all will be good profit from here | portside1
25/2/2019 08:56 | 2019 or 2022?... | diku
25/2/2019 08:56 | Wendsworth - A take over by Shell wouldn't surprise . Plus Conn is an ex oil man . The price is right Centrica have Fracking rights and Shell needs to diversify away from oil to electric and green .Though I've been suggesting a take over for years because of the ridiculously low price. Perhaps Conn's main reason for reducing debt was that move could be made !?Who knows, it's all speculation on my part.Good Luck. | mitchy
25/2/2019 08:50 | buy buy buy 158p by may | portside1
25/2/2019 07:30 | Morning Sorry I didn't get back sooner but had a few things on yesterday. I've not heard any whispers I'm afraid but my only reason for adding to my position is I think the market is factoring in a divi cut. I also think the same for the likes of Vodafone. Can't see a takeover any time soon if I'm honest but it can't be ruled out. Everyone is writing of the sector so why would Shell buy First Utility.I'm looking out for a flurry of analysts notes this week and the one that will interest me the most is DB !!Hope you have a good week | nortic 007
24/2/2019 17:10 | Nortic007 : Have just skimmed the past couple of days posts. Uncannily...I haven't told the wife either of my additional tranches ( current average 137.35 )!! There is a 'mutter in the gutter' as to the apparent 'incomprehensible rationalisation moves on the part of the Board ' being preparations for an eventual takeover by Shell. Have you heard such? Do you put any credence in them ? In the meantime ...we bank the divis!! | wendsworth
24/2/2019 17:04 | Couldn’t find any bad news on CNA this weekend. Considering the negative results I see that as a plus. May bringing EU Brexit earlier to Parliament (12th March) and opposition in disarray also positive. Hopefully it’s seen it’s nadir | whatsup32
22/2/2019 21:33 | Thank you Nortic, have a great weekend :) | jpjohn1
22/2/2019 21:30 | I wish you all the best and it's good hearing from you sir !! | nortic 007
22/2/2019 21:28 | Evening Nortic, & everybody else, yes I am still here . It is just a bit of a job posting when I am at work at some houses. You are lucky to get a signal around Witney, Woodstock area. It was a big drop yesterday for us, I bought an extra 50k shares at 119p, now have 100k shares total, and brought my averages down to 155p. When it starts going back to the 130- 140p I have the option of either selling the 50k I just bought at a good profit or wait to sell all at 155p. Just think I will be waiting a long time for this to get to 187p again. Have a good weekend all | jpjohn1 |
