It may be a good investment Nortic. Will bring in nice div and lower your average . I don’t think there will be much capital depreciation from here. On the positive side if they unload the Nuclear stake that will bring a nice chunk of money.

Bought a bit just now. It is high risk and divi is there to keep us from jumping so let's hope we don't wake one day to hear it's gone!

As per my post 14857 - I switched (back) to British Gas in October on the (then) cheapest deal.

Having said that, when I originally switched away from BG (about 3 years ago?), I saved @£700 a year.

But those days are now over.

phda - Yes , I saw Martin Lewis recommend British Gas as the best deal on TV about 3 weeks ago. It would be wonderful if they were now actaully winning customers !

It might be anecdotal but BG has been offering the best fixed deal of the big 6 over the last couple of months. This may stem the tide of exiting customers and may even reverse the trend. Never been with BG in my life and joined this month as they were offering the best fixed deal at the time, even mentioned on Martin Lewis.

I might wait until tomorrow morning. You'll get the usual press but the thing that perplexes me is why the statement has come as such a shock. You would have expected them to be trading down here in FRONT of the numbers and not after !!! ???Thoughts on the matter ?
