25/3/2011 13:17 | I have decided to buy back in today and plan to build on this. Operations are proceeding to plan with production from Q4 2011. I had not really fully factored in the low production cash cost of $830 per tonne. With possibly up to 730,000 tonnes of copper this looks like one that will build like Weatherly as the production date approaches ... as long as the wheels stay on the global economy and copper price . The Board looks very strong as well. | wassapper
14/3/2011 13:55 | Ivanhoe Mines Ltd. (IVN) and Bhp Billiton Ltd. (BHP) said they have found a new copper-molybdenum-go Ivanhoe owns 66% of Oyu Tolgoi, which is under construction, while the Mongolian government owns 34%. The new zone of shallow mineralization, Ulaan Khud North, is on an exploration licence that is part of an Ivanhoe joint venture with BHP formed in 2005. BHP has earned a 50% interest in the joint venture, which includes the Ulaan Khud North property, by spending $8 million in exploration costs and conducting an airborne survey, Ivanhoe said. Another global mining giant, Rio Tinto PLC (RIO), holds a big stake in Ivanhoe. Ivanhoe Chief Executive Robert Friendland said the discovery extends the known strike length of the Oyu Tolgoi mineralized system by three kilometers to the north, to more than 23 kilometers, and strengthens Ivanhoe's belief "that with continued exploration there is excellent potential to discover new porphyry deposits, rich in copper and gold, which are associated with the world-class Oyu Tolgoi mineralized trend." A pre-mining agreement for the Ulaan Khud North property provides Ivanhoe and BHP with a three-year window for further exploration and preparation of studies on the project. Alag Bayan, Mongolia The 70%-owned Alag Bayan copper-gold porphyry exploration licence is located in the middle of Mongolia's prolific copper-gold porphyry mineralisation trend and 100km from the world-class Oyu Tolgoi copper-gold deposit.... | jonny flame
22/2/2011 17:30 | Picked up a few this morning! I like what I've seen so far! Also in WTI, CDC, FCR and I'm hoping for much of the same here! | dick grasso
22/2/2011 06:05 | mb73 - personally I'm looking at about double the current market cap. What we need to do is create a spreadsheet like Chip does for his 'near to producing' shares in order to get some ball park figures. | jonny flame
21/2/2011 20:36 | I got few in these today. | attrader
21/2/2011 16:22 | Jonny - what's your price target for when they start producing? | mb73
21/2/2011 14:07 | Absolutely Jonny! I have made the assumption that they continue at 600kg, which would results in revenues a little over $1.6m, if they have increased again to say 1ton that may well bring in revenue over $2m. As you say we shall wait and see, i do like a the fact that they are generating income against the costs of construction! I have read the presentations available and thank you for the link! | dick grasso
21/2/2011 13:22 | new investors won't jump in at this small a tick-up the MMS need to make it worthwhile, give it a bump of 15% or so.... | andrbea
21/2/2011 12:52 | Not a core asset, would require time and funds and would take up management time whilst they are trying to develop Kounrad. Just my take. Perhaps they explain the reasoning in the AIM Admin doc? I haven't read this in detail. | jonny flame
21/2/2011 12:38 | I bought a few last week, chart looks good. Not sure why they'd want to sell the Ereen license - if they think it could contain more than 1m oz it should be worth developing? | mb73
21/2/2011 09:28 | Made a small purchase this morning.....hello..a | jonny flame
21/2/2011 07:46 | On this basis perhaps we can now estimate a 'potential' sale price for the Ereen Gold project in Mongolia which has a slightly larger JORC than Tochtar. Also great to see management delivering and doing what they say they will. Any views/ideas welcome! - 75% of the Tochtar Gold mine with c.700koz gold in JORC classified resources situated in western Kazakhstan near to the town of Zhitigara - 85% of the Ereen Gold project with c.773koz in JORC classified resources situated some 130km north of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia ..."The Tochtar (Kazakhstan) and Ereen (Mongolia) projects both have potential purchasers and are undergoing due diligence. The management remain hopeful of selling both assets in the next six months". | jonny flame
21/2/2011 07:31 | Morning folks, RNS out....excellent news, this stock is under the radar of most investors!! 21 February 2011 - CENTRAL ASIA METALS PLC Agreement reached to sell Tochtar subsidiary Central Asia Metals PLC,(AIM:CAML), a mining exploration and development company focused on base and precious metals in Central Asia, is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement for the sale of its subsidiary, Tochtar LLP. In line with the corporate strategy outlined at the time of the initial public offering (IPO) in September 2010, the Tochtar subsidiary has been sold to Wildorf Holding Limited for an agreed consideration ofUS$2.5m, consisting of US$825,000 in cash and US$1,675,000 of historical cost liabilities. The agreed price is for 100% of the asset and completion of the transaction is contingent upon receiving Article 71 clearance from the Kazakhstan Government. The Chief Financial Officer of CAML, Nigel Robinson, commented; "Following on from our decision to cease mining operations at Tochtar in 2009 we are delighted to have sold Tochtar. The deal removes the potential historical cost liabilities and will enable the CAML management to focus 100% in Kazakhstan on the delivery of the Kounrad SXEW Copper project" | jonny flame
08/2/2011 20:49 | any estimates as to what the 2 gold properties up for sale could bring? | molatovkid
08/2/2011 13:25 | Spotted this at the base of the press release. First time I have seen them mention this new exploration and DEVELOPMENT opportunity "Central Asia Metals plans to use this experience to look at additional opportunities in the region and is already in early stage discussions in respect of a new exploration and development opportunity." Will be interesting to see what this is....... Either way to is a roaring buy based on Kounrad alone | resource invest
08/2/2011 08:11 | Well this mornings RNS takes the uncertainty out of the Ereen licences, the market hates uncertainty. It also shows that the Mongolian's are ready to work with mining companies and to resolve issues promptly, onwards and upwards now me thinks! "The edge of the cyclone, one of the most powerful recorded, came ashore in north Queensland state, heading directly for sugarcane fields and threatening a 300 000-tons-a-year copper refinery in the coastal city of Townsville"..... ..."Copper prices climbed to a record high of nearly $10 000 a ton on Wednesday, fuelled by tight supplies and optimism over growing demand. Any further disruptions to supply would only add pressure to the price". | jonny flame
08/2/2011 07:21 | Glad this has been cleared up and successfully resolved; 8 February 2011 CENTRAL ASIA METALS PLC - Ereen Licence Status, Mongolia Central Asia Metals (AIM:CAML), a mining exploration and development company focused on base and precious metals in Central Asia, is pleased to announce that the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy of Mongolia has confirmed that CAML's Ereen licences have been removed from the list of licences in country liable to be revoked. On 8 December 2010 CAML issued a press release concerning the potential termination of three of its Ereen licences. On 17 November 2010 the Government of Mongolia published a list of 254 mineral licences in the country that they intend to revoke. As formerly stated, CAML sent letters to the Department of Mineral Resources, Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy, and Ministry of Environmental Protection and Tourism questioning the inclusion of our licences in the published list. CAML can now confirm that it has received confirmation from the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy of Mongolia that the Ereen licences have been removed from the Ministry's list of mining licences under consideration for termination. All three licences are considered hard rock deposits and therefore are not defined as alluvial as previously described by the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy. The Chief Executive Officer of CAML, Nick Clarke, commented; "It is pleasing to see the speed with which the Ministry responded to our request to review their decision on our Ereen licence and gratifying to receive such a favourable response. Mongolia remains a key region for CAML and we remain committed to our exploration projects, namely, Alag Bayan copper/gold, Handgait molybdenum and the Ereen gold projects. The authorities have shown their willingness to address matters of dispute in a fair and equitable manner. | jonny flame
