the mudrick/cenkos rumours remind me of the rumours surrounding the AA IPO from many years ago which came to fruition and which was a veritable jackpot for cenkos. the share price soared around the event.


Typical fees of around 5% on £300m would be very nice indeed - whether sole or shared.

let's hope the rumours (from a highly credible source) crystalise into reality.

An American fund manager that rose to prominence during Wall Street’s meme stock trading frenzy is considering a plan to raise £300 million by listing an investment company on the London market that will buy into distressed credit in the United States.

It is understood that Mudrick Capital has been gauging investors’ appetite for an initial public offering of a trust and has hired Cenkos, the stockbroker, to work on the deal...

The surprise Numis/Deutsche deal changes the sector landscape significantly.

After the announcement today -and the VERY high price Deutsche were prepared to pay for Numis of £410m- I wonder how that will impact the Cenkos-FinnCap merger or whether someone will crash/gate-crash the party.

If the FinnCap-Cenkos marriage now progresses, somehow can imagine that the future combined entity may be a potential candidate in any acquisition cross-hairs of a Deutsche competitor.

NUMIS HAS TODAY AGREED A RECOMMENDED TAKEOVER FROM DEUTSCHE BANK AT 350p PER SHARE.

A 60% PREMIUM TO YESTERDAY'S CLOSING 220p.

SECTOR CONSOLIDATION CONTINUES APACE.

THIS LEAVES THE NEW FINNCAP-CENKOS IN POLE POSITION AS AN INDEPENDENT CORPORATE FINANCE HOUSE.

It is a survival of the fittest and 2 of the best have combined.

Tough as it is in a downturn those who weather the storm come out stronger.

The biggest issue is around personalities of the combined entities. They both have decent people so I hope it works out.

Agreed. Poor negotiation. This values CNKS at £7m ex cash. Is that all ? Dozens of clients, including Trusts. Proud legacy, including some big IPO tickets. The brand is apparently being retained.
