Well at last the Round Hill placing but it will fall into H2 now. It will also be in direct competition with the Hipgnosis Funds £150m fundraise. I personally think Round Hill is probably better than Hipgnosis but time will tell.

Well they just don't seem to be updating their website now. Strange how things go into decline as soon as Jim Durkin leaves isn't it? If they don't get an IPO / deal away next week it won't close in H1.

Cenkos has maybe lacked the mega IPO deals - eg AA, BCA - which benefited them 6-7 years ago. Realistically they are not going to happen again - particularly with Jim and Paul out of the picture

IPO market beginning to cool? Marex Spectron & Elcogen IPOs cancelled...

Marex cancels London listing -

Broker Marex has pulled its planned listing, raising concerns that investors may be growing more cautious on new companies coming to the stock market.

The London-based broker, controlled by two former Lehman Brothers investment bankers following a private equity buyout in 2010, disclosed its decision late on Tuesday evening.

“Despite broad investor interest from high quality institutions in the Marex business and prospects, the company has decided not to proceed with the IPO at this time due to more challenging IPO market conditions,” it said in a statement.

The company, one of the brokers with rights to trade on the historic trading floor of the London Metal Exchange, had intended to list on the main market of the London Stock Exchange, seeking a valuation of $650m-$800m.

Another private equity-backed float, fuel cell company Elcogen, also pulled its plans to list on London’s junior market on Wednesday. The first quarter had been the strongest start to the year in 15 years on the LSE, as more than £15bn in equity was raised in the three months to March...

Certainly waiting for something. Its shaping up to be a poor H1 despite very strong market conditions. I think the problem at the moment is that they are too reliant on a handful of clients: Brickability, Marlowe, US Solar and Round Hill Music. They have good relationships with these, but they need more active clients. Website also still not updated. If Jim Durkin was still in charge it would be doing better!

Yes, that's positive. Looks like ML Hudson have switched to having Cenkos as the sole broker as well. Still no IPOs though which is poor for them.

Decent sized placing announced this morning for Brickability - Cenkos is acting as nominated adviser, sole broker and sole bookrunner in connection with the Acquisition, the Placing and the Sale.

"Proposed primary placing to raise gross proceeds of £55 million & proposed secondary placing to raise gross proceeds of £38 million"

I feel the same topvest but will give it a few more weeks to avoid the risk of selling just ahead of one IPO after another! I’ve no complaints having luckily bought near the low, but (despite the guaranteed down tick from someone clueless for posting this) there is simply no escaping the fact that H1 has been disappointing, especially so bearing in mind the buoyant markets. But a few IPOs in the next few weeks would reassure.

Well, unfortunately, I have decided to exit for a small profit overall. I think H1 has been disappointing to date (despite buoyant markets) and there are (to me) early signs that Jim Durkin leaving risks plunging Cenkos back to where they were before he rejoined. No IPOs YTD. Not updating web-site etc. Not a convincing Chairman and Board post Jim Durkin. Good luck to those that remain.

Too slow winning new business too. Recent wins are good enough to support current share price but not enough to give it a decent lift. As topvest posted, May to July are key months to get transactions away and it's getting near the end of May.

The update is positive, but in line. Outlook is promising. We all know they are trading about in line anyway, and maybe a bit below where we would expect. But May, June and July are key months to get transactions away.
Getting a sizeable IPO and/or Round Hill Music placing through before the end of June would make all the difference.
