A few rays of hope for the sector in today's Trading Update by sector leader Numis - whose shares are marked up by 5% in today's session.

Further to post #4028 above, 88 Energy Ltd (AIM:88E) have concluded an oversubscribed placing of AUD17.5m (GBP10.1m). Cenkos acted as sole broker on the UK portion.



Euroz Hartleys Limited acted as Sole Lead Manager and Sole Bookrunner to the Placement. Cenkos Securities Plc acted as Nominated Adviser and Sole Broker to the Placement in the United Kingdom. Inyati Capital Pty Ltd (Inyati) acted as Co-Manager to the Placement. Commission for the Placement was 6% (plus GST) of total funds raised across Euroz Hartleys Limited, Inyati Capital Pty Ltd and Cenkos Securities Plc.

EDIT - and the formal response to speculation by finnCap...



The Board of finnCap notes recent speculation and confirms that it has received indicative non-binding proposals from Panmure Gordon Group Limited ("Panmure Gordon") regarding a possible combination of the two companies structured as the acquisition for cash of finnCap by Panmure Gordon with the alternative for electing shareholders to receive partial consideration in Panmure Gordon securities.

Discussions between the Company and Panmure Gordon are still at an early stage. There can accordingly be no certainty that any offer will ultimately be made for the Company, nor as to the terms on which any offer might be made. This announcement has not been made with the consent of Panmure Gordon.

Strange.

The monthly EBT share purchase plan was recently reduced from £300k to £50k pcm.

So why hasn't the Trustee's broker bought this month's allocation - as the Trustee's instructions re price payable would appear to have been met?
