Just over 3000 in a couple of trades and both buys at £1.32, we must be nearing a move up, I was hoping we would issue a statement today saying results would be materially above what the market were expecting but sadly not looking as if it's forthcoming unless they didn't want to interfere with the live Brendan interview this afternoon.

this is unbelievable. Talk about killing the goose that lays the golden eggs. They are totally undermining the fixture as a spectacle, the Old Firm brand and thus the Celtic and Rangers brands.

Time the TV companies brought them both to heel.

not much action in the shares today but the balance certainly does seem to have tipped away from sellers to buyers given recent price action.

11,350 are all buys today, £1.23-1.32 spread at moment is pretty horrendous.

sure. But not as horrendous as advertised 120p:135p.

I'd rather have a 9p spread at mid of 127.5p than a 9p spread at, say, 104.5p. (I mean as the share price rises, the spread as a percentage of trading costs declines).

yep, Rodgers confirmed at 12:00. Nothing in statement to the Stock Exchange about contract length, just confirms his appointment as team manager.

Hats off to the board from this shareholder.

And... the buying begins. 10 shares at 129.3p.

As for Brendan Rodgers in Europe, that away win at Rosenborg to qualify for the Champions League group stage in 2017/2018 was the one I remember. Many other past Celtic managers would have lost that tie: Ange Postecoglou included.

I was quoted £1.201 to sell and £1.293 to buy there Asagi so not sure on the mid-price trades.

I was looking over Brendan's record in Europe during his three season and it was pretty decent for the squad we had. Think he won 8 CL qualifiers and lost to AEK Athens. We had a Europa qualifier which we won and qualified from the group only to lose to Valancia so he was pretty decent if you ignore the Maulings by Barcelona and PSG.

127.5p seems to be the new price that shares go through at. Are these buys or sells? Is the bid:offer truly 120p:130p with buys currently being met at 127.5p? It seems unlikely that newsflow in the last few days will have drawn out lots of new sellers at 127.5p.

fingers x'd ange said to the few he would have liked to take with him - stay at celtic atleast until january, you get champions league football and i see out a tricky initial few months at spurs then we'll see the lie of the land, if all is good, it might not feel so raw to bring you to london allowing the dust to settle after my departure. by then also, there will have been a fair assessment of spurs position in the table, fighting for champs league for season after, or mid table mediocrity/risking bottom 1/3.

as a parting gift would ange leave celtic with east asian transfer target list [japan/south korea/oz]?

too much backward stepping

agreed wrtmf. And Scott Brown would be a fool to leave a decent sized club like Fleetwood, where he has the opportunity to prove himself as a manager, to go and take a number two job anywhere.

And I'm not sure of the wisdom in giving Brendan Rodgers a large transfer budget!

the scale of ange's task:

'The previous 10 managers hired by Levy have won 62 trophies between them, with only one of those – the 2008 League Cup under Juande Ramos – coming at Tottenham. Postecoglou’s appointment takes that figure to 76, with the Australian winning 14 trophies in senior management across Celtic, Yokohama Marinos, the Australia national team, Brisbane Roar and South Melbourne.'

Stuart Kettlewell now odds on to be the next Celtic manager.

behave yourself, Kev0856153. 😉

According to oddschecker, Brendan Rodgers is favourite at 5/2.

Kev is not the only person claiming that Celtic will be due some compensation. See Fabrizio Romano's tweet earlier this evening.

He's a flawed manager and indeed his record of signings at Celtic was poor. Still, if the club sell Kyogo and he manages to again bring in a forward at the sort of price/quality combination that he managed with Dembele then the share price will do well.

And I'm sorry Celts... but that's the bit I care about!
