BBC reports that Celtic are in 'advanced talks' with Brendan Rodgers for him to become the next Celtic manager.

According to oddschecker, Brendan Rodgers is favourite at 5/2.

Kev is not the only person claiming that Celtic will be due some compensation. See Fabrizio Romano's tweet earlier this evening.

He's a flawed manager and indeed his record of signings at Celtic was poor. Still, if the club sell Kyogo and he manages to again bring in a forward at the sort of price/quality combination that he managed with Dembele then the share price will do well.

And I'm sorry Celts... but that's the bit I care about!

Celtic will get compensation after all since Ange's contract is a 12 month rolling he effectively has 12 months to go. If the rest of the backroom team like Kewill go they'll get extra.

well, Ange is going. Indeed, he is almost gone.

Career defining mistake. I don't see him getting Spurs into the top 4 for the sort of reasons that Conte articulated.

Imagine the chat with Levy.

Day -1:
Ange: "What will my transfer budget be this summer?"

Levy: "£150m"

Ange: "£150m. That's great support. Get the paperwork sorted and I'll sign."

Day 1:
Ange: "I want Kyogo from Celtic. He'll be £25m and will be brilliant up front with Kane. That leaves £125m of my transfer budget to strengthen the rest of the team."

Levy: "No. We sell Kane first, then you get a your transfer budget."

Gutted to see Ange go if expected he takes Spurs job. Kyogo is 28 and with couple years left on contract so we won't be knocking back an offer of £25m+. Presume Harry will be offloaded to Man Utd to give him a transfer budget. With our CL money and above going ahead, we'll have about £120m net cash so serious transfer kitty available by our standards.

He'll be offered multiples of his current salary and will be managing in the best league in the world. He's off if he gets offered it. No debate.
The question is who will be brought in to replace him. As you say there will be no shortage of candidates. I'm thinking along the lines of

Its looking more and more likely Ange will be going to Spurs. Put it this way if he's offered it I can't see him turning it down. He may never get another chance to manage in the Premiership. No compensation due to Celtic since he's on a rolling 12 month deal.

anyone notice the bargain for 3,000 shares at 133p yesterday? First time that anyone has bought a proper number of shares over the mid and they had to pay near the bid for them. Still, it's a rotten spread. Let's hope things tighten up.

Question to fans: if Postecoglou left, would you be happy with Brendan Rodgers back?

my gut feeling is ange will stay another season. if the board back him to strengthen the squad over the summer AND they get a good run in the CL, he'll stay longer. if at anytime he feels he's being short changed he'll not tolerate being messed about. some teams get through managers like months, eg spurs, chelsea, southampton, leeds. i don't think any of them will turn his head, because he know he's just as likely to end up on the casualty list

I dunno, Mick. Your post is an admission that the squad depth isn't there (Bernabei).

Funny, as I write it looks like 4k shares have just been bought at 129.70p, which seems like a record for recent days (high and in 'proper' size).

-- edit: it's a bargain for 2,000 shares according to London Stock Exchange website. But still 'proper' money i.e. over £2,000 worth

Unfortunately this result and performance demonstrate that Celtic need to spend more and spend well to have a high probability of winning the league again next year: a crucial year as the Champions League becomes more lucrative.

Implications not good.
