...and merchandising opportunities increase in far east.. |
Very interesting share trades today, first time large trades of any size have went through at the top end with 5k, 17k and 22k all at £1.20. One MM has been controlling bid and offer for a while so the 5k and 17k combined buys might be linked to the 22k.
Considering King thinks the other mob are worth £175m plus and we have an enterprise value of under £100m another £40m+ coming from CL football and sellout season tickets, something has got to give? |
yep, surely we will see some share price reaction next week? Group participation in next season's Champions League now almost confirmed.

celtic need to get to 97pts to take the title, having the far superior goal diff

next weekend's Old Firm is looking pretty irrelevant now. Even with a win, I don't seen Rangers making up the required seven points to overhaul Celtic.

so far, returning injured from international duty: abada maeda
thank goodness the japanese coach said 'no thanks' to hatate and furuhashi |
scottish cup semi-final falkirk v inverness rangers v celtic --> makes it 6 clashes this season |
10 games to go 9 point gap 8 april celtic v rangers |
tomorrow if rangers win, i can't see them going more than 2-0 if celtic win, they can do a 5-2
[assuming no red cards]
when the big games are on, i'd like to think the players' time is not their own, that ange calls everyone in, to watch it cinema style, inc the b team - eg city v leipzig, liver v real, utd v barca, real v atletico... |
Alas scumbags & filth in both camps doesn't really matter who has got the most and that in any case is for another forum - CCP with their short to medium term potential look a decent punt at 120p |
OK, I think it goes something like this.
ignore the numbers I've given as that's just my attempt to articulate how the 'league' could work rather than 'will'. 67HailHail video is his attempt to give the definitive answer. I don't imagine he's wrong.
Try this video from 8:10
where he tries (and gets v. close!!!) to the value of going straight into the Champions League to Celtic. Remember also Peter Lawwell from recent H1s:
The forthcoming changes to European Club Competition from 2024 onwards bring a number of exciting changes that we will embrace and look to take advantage of.
i.e. the season 2024/2025 will be even more lucrative.

I think he just described what I mentioned above Asagi, 36 teams, top eight qualify, 9th to 24th play home and away to qualify and nobody knows what happens to 25th to 36th?
We'll play eight games, all against different teams so no home and away. He mentions money could double to £60m but I doubt that as Gazprom probably paid a small fortune in last deal. |
Cheers Asagi
I'll have a look at that later this evening although I was sure it was 8 qualify and places 9-24 fight it out for the other 8 spots? Wasn't sure if position 25-36 dropped to Europa knockout or not but will review and seen which is correct. |
![](https://images.advfn.com/static/default-user.png) Home and away knockout guaranteed after the 8 CL league games? Isn't it based on how well we do in the league games?
OK, I think it goes something like this.
REMEMBER, for a cup knockout you need a power of 2 e.g 16, 32, 64.
ONE 32 team league, each team gets 8 games against 8 other teams, randomly chosen from the list of 31 others. Three points for a win etc.
At the end of that, the 12 top teams go through to the Champions League knockout.
But that leaves them four short. So, to get around the unfairness of the initial eight fixtures being randomly selected, the teams placed 13-20 are drawn and knockout against each other in one home and away tie. The teams 21-32 go into Europa League at, say, the group stage.
The four victors of the teams placed 13-20 that knockout join the top twelve in a Champions League round of sixteen.
The four losers of the 13-20 knockout go into the same round as the victors from the Europa League group stages.
Or similar. There's a beauty to it. Hamish from 67HailHail explains it here:

Think I read it's one big league of 36 teams and first 8 qualify, 4 home and 4 away games. Teams that finish 9th to 24th then play each other home and away to qualify for last 16, nae bother. :-) |
Home and away knockout guaranteed after the 8 CL league games? Isn't it based on how well we do in the league games? |
Is the share price being held back awaiting any potential fallout of any court ruling on Boys Club scandal? If not why with club in such s healthy has share price not moved further north? Any views appreciated |
Convertibles are converted 2.08 for 1 and other preference shares are 1 to 1, was valued under £150m.
Hatate and CCV will make up the shortfall in valuation between net cash and market cap!
CL will be 8 games in 2024 with home and away knockout after this guaranteed, so 10 games minimum. Said once the sellers have dried up, there would be no liquidity for any buyers once it starts climbing. |
Mick how are you valuing this? There are the ordinaries but then there are all the convertibles which would be dilutive. If I remember rightly the deferred shares can be ignored. |
Agree it's a toss up O'Riley and Mooy but think Jota will start.
I added another 5k shares last Monday, win the league and we're almost £90m net cash with cl money. We can bury them this time if needed if Ange wants to stay a few years. |
days to go.....league cup final ange to put out his strongest squad at kick off, which i don't think he did at new year - why? ibrox historical disaster, pele and frank mcgarvey. a game he didn't want to win on their patch, as odd as it sounds.
kick off front line mcgregor + hatate + mooy/o'riley maeda + furuhashi + jota/abada |
