03/9/2009 12:36 | Ian, junior Oil Stocks are looking juicy. Take a look at GKP but be careful could go either way (I am in at 12p and thats only from end July). Also Petroceltic (PCI) have commenced a 7 well drilling programme in Algeria and we should get results in the next 4/6 weeks. Back to CEL, I have now found all of my purchase notes and I was a little surprised to find that my 1st purchase was on 15/9/98 (almost exactly 11 years ago)also my overall profit is £48k so not a bad result I suppose. | wywcu1
03/9/2009 12:18 | I am a veteran of RTD & CEL, and now they've both gone. Profits from them have more than covered many other disastrous investments! I have some shares in RENE (Reneuron) a stem cell research company showing promise, although we have been clobbered recently with a massive share placing with major investors at 3p. Nevertheless, it is slowly climbing. Could be useless, but there again... I have some shares in AHT (Ashtead); you may wish to check it out. And I have just a few in XAR (Xaar), printer ink and all that; has plummeted from £3+, but is slowly recovering. | verger
03/9/2009 12:00 | yes ian - don't pick your scabs. good luck on the next punt... | targatarga
03/9/2009 09:26 | Well they won Time to move on,has anybody got any tips. Sold on line at 232.01 | ianst99
03/9/2009 08:00 | Oh dear. Well, hats off to NAV. Now which bin did I throw the offer document in? | verger
03/9/2009 07:46 | Well thats it Guys. Good luck with your other investments. I, like a number of you, will have to do some "bed and spousing" to minimise my CGT liabilities. | wywcu1
03/9/2009 07:24 | Biggles exactly...? | dpeach
03/9/2009 07:23 | if they only have 68.74% and need 75% to delist, they can't delist? surely they may have 68.74% but they would still have to trade via london markets? | dpeach
03/9/2009 07:19 | Yes, but what does this mean to us? Does the fact they've got 50% kill off any chance of a higher bid, or does the fact that they failed to get 75% mean there is still hope? I found it interesting that they needed to threaten that "there may be no future market for Celsis Shareholders to realise their investment", or is that standard for these announcements? | b1ggles
02/9/2009 22:49 | If they were to bid higher, it would have to be at a level acceptable to the institutions who hold CEL shares; in that case, they would want to get a strong indication as to what that level was before bidding. Let's help them! I'd sell for 262.5p. | verger
02/9/2009 20:39 | If this fails I would be very pixxed off if any cost of this debacle was paid for by CEL. We are now looking at a scenario where the management have to listen to us and re-instate the dividend or resign - quite simple. And yes, I am expecting a paper loss in the morning. | wywcu1
02/9/2009 19:56 | Ibox, we will get it at 7am in the morning. | wywcu1
02/9/2009 18:51 | But no announcement. Smacks of unprofessionalism to me. | ibrox
02/9/2009 17:20 | I would suggest that the initial attempt has failed. In my view they were just that little bit too greedy and I guess that if the offer was in the 250's we would not be having this conversation. | wywcu1
02/9/2009 17:13 | I see today was the first trading day for ages when there hasn't been a 'Rule 8' notice. Does that mean no shares changed hands yesterday (in which case NAV have failed)? Or could they have held the notification back to keep people guessing? | b1ggles
02/9/2009 17:03 | Why the delay? - usually means bad news (management view anyway.) I can imagine them calling for a recount! Oh dear - I see I've clocked the emegency number! An omen??? (Who's for the millennium?) | boadicea
02/9/2009 13:45 | hey wywcu1, the deadline was at 1pm... lets hope it's been a non | dpeach
02/9/2009 13:36 | 25 minutes to the deadline. My guess is that we will get an RNS later today. | wywcu1
02/9/2009 10:36 | If the bid does not succeed then it will be up to management to rethink their strategy. A very simple way of maintaining the current S.P. is to re-instate the dividend. Celsis is one of very few companies that are more or less maintaining their profitability in these recessionary times. When the World economy picks up CEL will be at the forefront. This is why I have held on to my shares. | wywcu1
02/9/2009 09:58 | Having a substantial shareholding which they are unlikely to want to sell at a loss should put a floor under the shares, maybe at a lower price than 232 but this would still remove some liquidity. | ibrox
02/9/2009 09:01 | We might need to be ready for them to do as they have threatened and walk away, but I'm sure they will be back; there's too much to lose. | verger
02/9/2009 08:39 | Yes Verger, I agree. Not sure which way it will go now. | wywcu1
02/9/2009 08:07 | 5 hours to go, and no early morning announcement. Fasten your safety belts; there could be turbulence! | verger
01/9/2009 10:04 | I've just listened in on an institution board meeting: 'Well, chaps, what do you reckon about this Celsis offer?' 'It seems they will end up with just under 50%.' 'So, do we all agree that we can hold out for a little bit more?' 'Agreed!' ...Can the conversation be anything else? | verger |
