25/8/2009 11:46 | Just checked and last years trading update which was out on the 26/09/2008 so interesting why has been released now? | dpeach
25/8/2009 11:35 | Interesting KBC had not picked up many shares over the last few days and then we have the 'update'... | dpeach
25/8/2009 09:55 | Exactly my thoughts boadicea. | wywcu1
25/8/2009 09:34 | Today's announcement - a rather transparent ploy to frighten the nervous into accepting. Very clearly things aren't going well for this attempted rip-off. Unfortunately, in nervous matkets it could just work on pi's. Equally, or perhaps more likely, by advertising that the current offer won't be increased it may encourage the instigators of an alternative deal to proceed in the knowledge that the effort and expenses they incur will not risk being wasted. SIT TIGHT for the ride imho (having dyor'd, of course). | boadicea
25/8/2009 08:56 | I know there is room for improvement with my grammer, i must try harder, but it is true 'There are rumours,Im not prepared to say who i spoke to but you could call the registrars. Im saying no more. | mmickyboy
25/8/2009 08:48 | Ive ignored my letter of acceptance, i expect there will be an extended deadline after 2nd Sept, I will sit tight ive been gradually increasing my holding since i first bought in 2001, now they are about to show value and i expect to be rewarded for my patience, not have to give up my holding, ive got around 12k not totted them up yet. I will be holding unless i get served a 980 form and would suggest every holder to do the same. | mmickyboy
25/8/2009 08:18 | mmickyboy - is that true? | dpeach
25/8/2009 08:18 | mmickyboy, grammar! 'There is a rumour' or 'There are rumours'; we don't want standards to slip on this bb! Also, we are a caring sharing community, so do tell us more - who did you speak to and what did they say? | verger
25/8/2009 07:49 | c4ptain_coefficient Hi Ben There is rumours of a higher offer being put together, spoke to someone in the city this morning. you could add that in your story ;-) Mick | mmickyboy
25/8/2009 07:20 | Er, we know there has been no third party approach. Er, you'd expect a bidder to say that they won't be upping their offer. And as far as the management is concerned, how come things are turning so bad? Are they sitting back and doing nothing? NAv, if you want to frighten us, then give us a believeable alternative about what you will do with your shares if the initial offer is not accepted. Will you dump them at a loss? Will you stay as a major shareholder and change the management? Will you support a heavily discounted rights issue for some reason? We're listening! | verger
25/8/2009 07:00 | Offer update sounds a little desperate to me ! | geoffg
24/8/2009 19:40 | I've said no for my 10,000, it's quite exciting being a rebel isn't it? | eburne1960
24/8/2009 12:57 | I said no for my 7000 shares... that'll show them! | martinc
24/8/2009 12:53 | Well done ROBLEETOON, in my opinion the bid should have been 50p higher. Don't forget the stockmarket has improved over the past month. | wywcu1
24/8/2009 12:49 | Only got 4000 shares but have not accepted. | robleetoon
24/8/2009 12:09 | Out of curiosity, how many on here have not signed the acceptance certificate? Should give us a good insight on what the Institutions will do. I most certainly have not. | wywcu1
24/8/2009 11:45 | You would be hoping that behind the scenes the institutions would have said the bid is too low. Having put the effort in to making a bid, I think it's unlikely the MBO team would walk away if they don't get the requisite acceptances. Initial bids are usually sighting shots, so there has to be a chance of an improved offer. | daz
24/8/2009 11:22 | Verger, that would be the icing. Yep NAV haven't reported any purchases for a couple of days. Bid still at 232.51p above the NAV offer | dpeach
24/8/2009 10:08 | Yawn. Not even an exciting notice from NAV saying they've bought another 50 shares. OK, I'm ready for a counter bid. Bring it on! | verger
22/8/2009 13:16 | wywcu1 re 934 I totally agree with you the boards position will be untenable and shareholders will be looking for blood. I think they were so fixated on what they would make that they did not even anticipate this outcome. I would expect nothing less than full board resignation if the vote goes against them. You need balls of steel in this game and I am not so sure that they have them. | bookworm1
21/8/2009 08:07 | 1000 sold today on plus for 232.51 so above offer price..hmmmm. I think first time seen bid be above 'the takeover offer' price | dpeach
20/8/2009 21:26 | I hold in a First Direct share account and received the information letter today - the default if you do nothing is "Reject the Offer". | +eysenck
20/8/2009 13:39 | Yes Verger, shows that they are concerned of a complete balls-up. Out of curiosity, did you tell them to get stuffed? | wywcu1 |
