It would have been the honest thing for Clive to do and save the poor LTH pis much unwanted paranoia as they watch the share price drop on very low volume sales by investors who have just given up on the 'dream'

Pure speculation, but I do wonder if part of the delay with the shallows deal in H2 last year may have been uncertainty about the US election & wanting to see if Trump was elected in November. Knowing the impact on the Ukraine war and lifting of sanctions. Clearly the lifting of sanctions is now much more likely.
The new long stop date is 28th Feb. Just over four weeks' time. With the possibility of a special dividend to follow. |

Already threatening increased sanctions so maybe there's a resolution in sight. He'll want NATO participants to carry more of the financial burden but I don't see him pulling funding. If there is a resolution, sanctions will lift and maybe Caspian will be achieving far higher gross prices but as their selling current production, that opportunity it will transfer to AR. Hopefully a likely war resolution will increase AR's focus to complete on the deal. February should see the start of the material news. |

Trades at 2.95 today have of course all been buys despite recorded as sells and have included the largest today so far (125k). |
Can't see that being an option, they would need shareholder approval and that needs a GM and alot more disclosure on a list of 'pendings' longer than my arm

There is a big flaw in the 'paper' theory
If the Shallows sale goes through they will have £70m cash in the bank account
Why would they acquire a 'new asset' by issuing more paper when they can acquire with cash from balance sheet? |
I don't think the CP would agree a deal at a discount unless they were benefitting as part of the acquisition entity . What would be the point ? If anything the reverse may happen where they push out announcements to demonstrate value and push up the share price to force a deal at a higher price . Anyway if a bid was possible it surely would have happened years ago. I am sticking with the theory a paper deal is possible with a low share price being helpful to anybody but the minority. |
