Very positive / bullish outlook about Card Factory issued by regional Stockbroker, Redmayne Bentley.

I don't think Redmayne Bentley are Card Factory's official Corporate Broker / House Broker, so I guess that bodes well for the CF share price ??

To be fair, its differing opinions that make a market function.

where I have a problem is when people spout cr@p to try to manipulate share prices adversely - which is eaxactly what BORINGsteve and 1novice are attempting to do.

why try to talk down the shares ?? unless you have a vested interest in doing so !!!

In other words you've sold "short" and you dont wanna see the price rise.
It is so obvious what you are attempting to do

stevieBORING2190

you are so predictable.............negativity, negativity, negativity

I suspect you've sold short on Card Factory and are trying to talk the shares down, it will serve you right WHEN (not if) you get burnt !!!

What cr@p are you gonna come out with next ???

Jeremy Corbyn to NATIONALISE all card retailers ?

The Xmas 2019 will NOT be bad. within the last 2 weeks I've visited 7 Card Factory shops locally, 3 in Huddersfield, 2 in Wakefield, 1 in Ravensthorpe, 1 in Dewsbury and 1 in Halifax.

Every one of these shops was BUSY - plenty of sales being rung-up on the tills, etc

If this scenario is replicated nationwide then I suspect CF is going to have a successful Xmas 2019.

Looking specifically now at the latest share price of 151p each - anybody wanna tell me what the projected gross dividend yield is please ??

It would be helpful to know the propsective gross div yield INCLUDING and EXCLUDING the "special" dividend. Cheers

How do you know the XMAs results are poor?

I would leave the shares alone until the poor xmas results are released...then pile in as the way forward for card factory will finally be realised..

So the independent bakers wiped out by greggs and the independent card shops wiped out by card factory and so on and so on..i dont agree with you..and another reason...clone stores..no point of difference..all shopping centres the same now...

Quite the contrary StevieB. Card Factory is not destroying the high street, it is one of the few success stories on the high street. Without it and stores like Greggs there may not be a viable high street in many towns. The share price is not always a good indicator of underlying value - easily skewed if there is a big seller. I am taking this opportunity to buy more.

Have you been following the share price..not just me it seems...and yes i do not like card factory....or the works...or £1 shops and so on...these in my opinion are destroying high streets and will in turn fail

StevieBORING2190 - your negativity is getting so boring.

OK i get the fact that you dont like Card Factory PLC as a business but some of us can see the hidden value in it.

You are doing yourself no favours by posting cr@p !!!

This is Card Factory’s time of the year and down goes the share price Would appear contrary to all reports, including my own observations! Not to mention 400 new Aldi outlets and more to come in Australia in January. Very tasty dividend yield at this price too.

Being busy when you are giving stock away is not rocket science...staff costs to cover this period and customer fatigue with ques will show up in next report..i think it will make for poor reading

I'm not unduly concerned about Clintons. Yes they are a rival card seller but they dont have the vertical integration that Card Factory has.

As regards the 3 Huddersfield stores, they are all located in good locations across the town centre and they were all busy.

Looks positive to me

But Clintons have done a pre-pack administration so will stay around for a while longer

That is indeed encouraging for a positive Xmas trading update. However, the clue to the future is the fact that Huddersfield has three stores! Market saturation. In the medium term we are not going to get the kind of growth that 50 store openings a year gave therefore the focus will shift to margin enhancement, cost reduction and debt repayment. In the meantime the relatively minor growth initiatives (Ireland, alternative sales channels, etc) will help hold up volumes. I believe this is possible but am looking for a shift in management tone and strategy

ok so the "bears" and "shorters" of Card Factory are gonna savage me and pull me down here, and I fully appreciate that one swallow does not make a Summer but here goes....................

Earlier today the wife dragged me off Xmas shopping, so I took the opportunity to visit all 3 Card Factory shops in Huddersfield town centre and guess what, THEY WERE ALL BUSY, ALL HAD PLENTY OF FOOT FALL AND ALL THE TILLS WERE BUSY !!!

I asked the CF Store Manager of the Kingsgate Shopping Centre store if they were getting plenty of business, and I was told that total sales at this particular store were up 10% on the corresponding period last year.

So this sounds pretty positive me and if it's replicated nationwide then these shares are far too cheap (IMHO).

multiple small buys could be automatic dividend re-investments

(Caveat: I don't hold CARD so not sure if dividend was paid out recently.)
