Confirmed. The Paycheck Protection Program grant for Carclo Plc was approved on 8 April 2020 and subsequently disbursed by the Commercial Bank and Trust of PA.

Someone posted on LSE Board that CAR has received a grant of between USD2m and USD5m from US Treasury, and that this doesn't have to be paid back if no staff are laid off for 8 weeks.

Has to be welcome news, if true!

The company seems to be showing some signs of life prompted mainly, one assumes, by its medical devices market involvement - covid testing etc. This could see some pressures to keep up with demand. There could be potential problem with additional expenses that working restrictions may cause and also capital for tooling but at least competitive pricing pressures should have eased.
Aviation components on the other hand are presumably impacted by the precipitous reduction in flights.

From the recent year-end update-
"Given the division's focus on the medical market, overall demand across the Technical Plastics business has remained relatively resilient, with a number of its products being used directly in COVID-19 testing applications. Notwithstanding continued demand, the implementation of governmental guidance on social distancing and some limited shutdowns have impacted efficiency and throughput across the Group, which will inevitably have a negative impact on profitability."

Last year was exceptionally late due to everything happening at the time.

CAR have already said on May 4th that for this year due to COVID-19 "the Board has decided to delay the publication of the Company's Full Year Results for the year ended 31 March 2020 beyond 30 June 2020, the date on which Carclo had previously expected to announce. The revised publication date will be published in due course."

Last year final results were reported in November 2019, so why would they report the results in July?Doesn't make sense.

I have lost lots of money here in the past as a result of their poor management. However they have now finally shed Wipac and apart from the pension deficit should be ready to go places. I was thinking the other day that their business could benefit hugely from Covid capilliaries . I should have bought in then but have done so today . They are still a takeover target as well as having good business opportunities, Go carclo go !!

Someone seems to have woken up the SP, thanks to the 270K buyer printed at 12:44 at 7p.. :o)

The group will recover over time IMO now the company making the repeat and extended losses from poor decisions has been separated/isolated and sold off..

Looking forward the next Q2 trading update as the recovery and rebuild starts after the Wipac disposal.., where they go with, and what decisions have been made on the pension fund deficit/premiums..

Mindful of the ongoing uncertainty presented by the COVID-19 situation, and the guidance from the Financial Conduct Authority that public companies should consider delaying preliminary announcements, the Board has decided to delay the publication of the Company's Full Year Results for the year ended 31 March 2020 beyond 30 June 2020, the date on which Carclo had previously expected to announce. The revised publication date will be published in due course.

Are there lots of Chinese in God's own country or should that be County?
Even if nothing coming from Avacta this is a lowly priced share.
Have noticed lots of companies coming up with smart solutions to pension deficit issues.Winn/win.
