Nomad tells me rns out in the next few days, indicating that proposed deal is unlikely to be completed within AIM time limits and Cordillera likely to be de-registered from AIM but negotiations will remain in place to effect a deal as indicated in previous RNS"s. Regards Crabby.

I find the appointment of a new non executive director iin August an interesting pointer. True, his stake is not that big but, if the company had no future prospects, would he bother at all. His origins would suggest that an Australasian target is on the radar. We shall see.

mirandaj - i'm keeping bloody everything crossed ;-)

I know Mr Orr-Ewing reasonably well now from previous chats and meetings and he was very upbeat - he stressed that they didn't envisage the complications inherent in the last deal and that "long suffering and very patient" shareholders may finally be rewarded...

to be honest, i'd pretty much written this one off but let's see what the next few weeks bring...

shares have remained suspended due to AIM cash shell rules...

looks like we may have a deal - heads of agreement to be signed in the next day or two on a reverse takeover for another onshore oil exploration deal. Don't know what region we're talking but it's definitely NOT Russia!

Hopefully an announcement to the Stock Exchange next week and have been assured that this is a much cleaner deal than Continental Petroleum..

with any luck the deal should be concluded by the end of September

here's hoping.

Presumably, the Russian situation remains alive until 31 July . CLA's most reent announcement would certainly concentrate everybodys minds and we might yet see some development over the next 2 weeks. Why do the shares continue to be suspended if there are no firm deals in the offing?

still here crab4t - things don't look great but thankfully the shares will stay suspended. The board assured me they have given CLA their top priority and are confident of securing another deal in the given time frame. The russian deal is not totally dead but it is looking unlikely that they'll get their act together to come back to CLA with all the requirements. That is why the termination was done so that CLA can talk to other interested parties as time was running short...

keeping fingers and everything else crossed...

KDixon148, The deal is off, they now sign a deal of termination and start looking for another reverse takeover which it appears must be completed by October 2nd 2006 or their AIM listing is cancelled, luck to all holders, we'll need it with this time frame!!!!!!

Thought something smelled just not quite right here, beginning to wish i'd got out at 4p now! Doesn't leave a lot of time till October, and a lot of time/cash has already been wasted! This is gonna dive straight to the deck when suspension is lifted! AIMHO
