01/11/2012 08:33 | Greenroom78 - I also bought a few yesterday at 32p for the same reasons. The double dose of bad news seems to have knocked the share price too far IMO - particularly as the second dose was vicarious; i.e. CEY news. FWIW, I get a fair value of at least 50p, which would still be a fairly depressed val'n IMO. Prospective P/E around 4.5, NTAV c.40p per share, big director's holdings. | gingerplant
01/11/2012 08:07 | CEY have relisted today. | greenroom78
31/10/2012 14:52 | I've bought in today also. I watched it from 80p up to 100p and all the way down again. I thought it was hit too hard after the last statement and was waiting for a sign of the bottom, this CEY thing looks like added risk but you'd have to think most is priced in. I've bought on the basis that I think the CEY thing will blow over, CAPD price below NAV looks a good punt IMO. | greenroom78
31/10/2012 14:30 | I've bought some more at 30.5 to tuck away in my SIPP for a long term bet. What with CAPD plunging and BG Group down 17% its an eventful couple of days on the market. GLA, AG | aston girl
31/10/2012 10:46 | Some big buys starting to appear now. | burnage
30/10/2012 15:06 | Capital Drilling Limited (CAPD: LN), the emerging and developing markets drilling company, notes the announcement made today by Centamin PLC and the resultant move in share price. Capital Drilling confirms operations continue as normal on the Sukari site and will inform the market of any relevant information. | ukinvestor220
30/10/2012 11:52 | CEY is storm in tea-cup anyway. Suspension is formality but here looks an opportunity to me... | thorpematt
30/10/2012 11:41 | Glad I sold out now, this just gets worse. | lennonsalive
30/10/2012 10:15 | Anyone know if Centamin are one of their clients? - I seem to remember that Egypt was a major area of operation. If so then today's cout action ruling the Centamin concession null and void could hit CAPD very hard (imo) Edited. Confirmed fom the accounts "Centamin in Egypt for new underground drilling" but not possible to determine what %age of t/o the Centamin business represents. However it could be more rigs standing idle. | pugugly
30/10/2012 09:21 | Dropping on CEY this am | thorpematt
25/10/2012 10:08 | THORPEMATT:> Thanks for the link - Most useful as not covered by Refs. Fully endorse your comments re analysts especially the last 8 words !!!!!!!!!!!! | pugugly
24/10/2012 19:22 | IMV ALL Brokers comments should be treated with caution. However the actual forecasts tend to be fairly honest stabs at gettng it right. From there we can make our own choices relating to outlook and fair valuation rather than listen to someone else's "agenda" Hopefully this link will work to give some idea of the bigger picture. Really anytime forecast are missed there's trouble for the share price When prior growth switches to falling turnover you gonna see a slump. I think the trick is to asses whether a fall is overdone or not and for that I would definately NOT take much note of the house broker. | thorpematt
24/10/2012 08:54 | Canaccord are one of the 2 house brokers, so (IMO) need to treat any house broker forecast with a slight dose of sceptism. | pugugly
24/10/2012 08:30 | New forecasts below. After this and SHFT think I'll avoid drilling cos in future... 12/13 Canaccord Genuity Ltd 23/10/12 BUY 13.29 7.43 12.80 7.12 | penpont
23/10/2012 14:03 | Been out today so disappointing to return to this. I agree takeiteasy, in particular the weakness in Tanzania was unexpected (and in Egypt to an extent given that for example CEY have been carrying on as normal AFAICS). There is some promise going forward given the tendering noted in the RNS and the high and increasing utilisation rate in Q3. It'll be interesting to note the revised forecasts. | rivaldo
23/10/2012 11:55 | According to the FT today SP's of Copper & Gold falling. Major minors pulling back on forward developments. Capital Drill will (imo) come under increasing prssure to reduce their charges and improve rig utilisation. Non utilised rigs are like horses in the stable - They have to be fed (cost of capital and depreciation) but are producing no revenue. Could have a lot further to fall (imo) | pugugly
23/10/2012 10:33 | well I got this totally wrong... I thought they were sufficiently diversified to not be affected by issues in any one country... and copper and gold miners were still investing... Just reads like a lot of excuses to me..... | trytotakeiteasy
23/10/2012 08:49 | Too many warnings on the outlook here, despite good income. Which is odd, as they keep adding rigs. | lennonsalive
23/10/2012 08:33 | Have a look at SOU guys, seems to have bottomed after recent rise and looking good to move North again.. DYOR etc. | alan dibble
23/10/2012 08:26 | Added a few. | nilip
23/10/2012 08:24 | its nailbiting stuff innit :) | ukinvestor220
23/10/2012 08:13 | I've gone long. Been watching and waiting to jump in for a while - amazed I got in at this price. | solar_br
23/10/2012 08:11 | Recovering already. Only 2 sells to date; rest are buys. Chins up guys. | cestnous
23/10/2012 08:11 | Well you gotta shake the tree if you're a MM. | thorpematt
23/10/2012 08:05 | maybe itll pop up again after the fear has receded | ukinvestor220 |
