A different name but still the same outcome.

About ten years ago I read about funds being withdrawn from Africa / 3rd world countries and poured into America .... a bull run had started.
I now read the American bull market has topped out and traders are heading over sea's for bigger returns.
The bombed out UK market is now on the Sage of Oman's watch list. The first time since he had his fingers burned with Tesco's !. Could it be true also that Africa is also back on the traders watch list ?.
Samir is in charge and he can judge the situation on the ground!. I'll go with what he says.

It's a crying shame what Mugabe did to Zimbabwe and it's people. And it's good to see a recovery. If Samir has had enough and want s to liquidate Cambria's assets, that's fair enough and good luck to him. But he has a better chance of selling into a rising economy.

Time will tell all.
Good luck.

Maybe but I think Samir wants out. Selling the assets and switching the banking business to SA and any other interested countries.

They mess you around you do not want to touch them again do you.

Looks really promising again if they get their accounts out and do this SA deal.

So potentially.

£1.5 mil market cap

Assuming no material changes in results.

£1 mil of cash in USD.

Sale of A.F. Philips for over £1.3 mil

Properties worth £2 mil although they have been up for sale we guess for
a while with no takers.

But the South African deal with Paynet could be the game changer

CMB was trading around 8-10 times higher when Paynet was rolling in the cash

Firstly lets see those results and return to trading

Agree Dave - great to see this news. Lots of things clearly still going on in the background which can only be positive for us long term holders :-)
With all that is going on with a lot of other AIM companies, its refreshing to again see Samir's clear drive to look after shareholder interests.

They used to make £1-2 mil profits from Paynet.

So potentially using the software again in another country is massive.

Add on the NAV the cash etc etc then it could be great if they get their accounts
out and return

vote that down :-))

I reckon had this been trading normally this news would have seen a substantial rise.

£1.5 mil market cap, covered by £1 mil of cash, all those assets

This news is potentially huge, they use to make huge profits from Paynet.

From being totally despondent I'm quite excited now

Hello...out of the blue this news !

11 July 2023

Cambria Africa plc

("Cambria" or the "Company")

Paynet Software Agreement proposed to Multi-Pay Solutions (Pvt) Ltd

(Multi-Pay)

Further to the Investment Update of 27 October 2022, and in keeping with its strategy to maximize realizable NAV at the holding level, Cambria Africa plc (AIM:CMB) ("Cambria" or the "Company"), has in principle agreed to grant Multi-Pay Solutions (Pvt) Ltd (Multi-Pay Solutions) exclusive rights to use, distribute, and operate Paynet Software in the Southern African Development Community (SADC). Payserv Africa will continue to operate Paynet outside of the SADC region.

Paynet Software is a multi-currency payment solution that has been trusted for over two decades to streamline secure and efficient interbank/intrabank (onus/offus) bulk payment and gross settlement transactions.

Commenting on the proposed exclusive arrangement, Frances Pickering, Managing Director of Multi-Pay Solutions, stated, "With independent management and control, Multi-Pay will build on a proven and tested platform, offering a unique and reliable opportunity for our partners in the banking industry."

Cambria's CEO, Samir Shasha, commented, 'This proposal, if finalized, would be an important step in our efforts to realize the value of our proprietary software and aligns well with our ongoing strategic shift. Multi-Pay, by leveraging its extensive fintech experience and market knowledge, is uniquely positioned to distribute and operate the Paynet Software, driving substantial benefits to financial institutions and consumers alike.'"

Cambria is in the process of active fixed asset realization. As previously announced, Cambria is concluding the sale of its interest in Radar Limited. Since October, the Company has recovered about $400,000 in Legacy Debts at the holding level. The Company is yet to release its audited full-year results as of 31 August 2022 and management's half-year results as of 28 February.

Cambria will provide further updates on the progress of this strategic partnership as and when appropriate.

'It's a steal'

Let's hope it's a reference to the discounted assets to M/C and not the CMB bod !.

I've written this investment off so many times over so many years, going back to when they were called LonZim / Lonrho. I'd be delighted to get money back, but pragmatic.

Time will tell.

I read about money going into Africa, but is it going to Zimbabwe ? The highest of risks.

That's a lot of money dave, I hope it works out for You and I both.

Surely they have to say something soon.

I know he says he wants to obtain full value for assets but now I'd be thinking take discounts. Sell the property 20-30% below market price if no buyers, sell all business's the same. With the cash already outside Zimbabwe it would still be a return way above current price.

I think I'm having more sleepless nights than samir tenapen, no replies to emails and I'm not going to Zimbabwe to find out but then again with £30-40k in this one maybe I should !

I see Zimbabwe devalued it's currency.... again.

I honestly thought with Mugabe gone and the rise of social media, rather than just state media. Things would improve ..... sadly not.

I wonder how many sleepless nights Samir has had, regretting his decision to employ the retired guy from the world Bank. From memory - a week later payserve lost the bank payments contract and we end up here - suspended.

It will play out as it's ment to.
