20/9/2023 12:15 | So impressive that the Aussies have heard of Cake Box and like it so much that they want to buy the whole company. Of course the take over offer of 160p 'materially undervalues' the firm. | justiceforthemany
20/9/2023 11:32 | You are the eternal optimist. Share price not indicating that at all . Be lucky to hold 140p imo | levinson1
20/9/2023 10:16 | Finsbury Food bought out. Huge demand for M&A in this sector. Cake Box will get a revised offer soon IMO. 160p was just a test. 200p+ next. | justiceforthemany
18/9/2023 07:06 | Justice for the many - you're dreaming.. The price is 8 p below the 'supposed approach level of 160p. And results have come out since showing no growth. If a bidder was still there they'd be buying everything around up to 165imo at keast. This stock imo us going nowhere but down. Why did the superb Chairnan/ non- exec just leave ? Will be below 150p v soon and then test 140p imo | levinson1
15/9/2023 13:35 | Wages now rising faster than inflation also helps the consumer. The Aussies will be back with a better offer. No doubt at all IMO. | justiceforthemany
15/9/2023 13:33 | Traded above 400p less than 2 years ago. Still growing, new stores opening, Scotland expansion, hot summer hurt demand last year but no such risk this year. Every shop across the UK is packed and sales are surging. Margins improving also as inflation and PPI/raw material costs are down significantly vs 2022. Bargain. Revised take over from the Aussies and others highly likely, 250p will be accepted. | justiceforthemany
15/9/2023 13:30 | Private investors do not influence a share price. Your tiny holdings have zero impact. Hedge funds do. | justiceforthemany
15/9/2023 12:00 | Really!!! Imo they will fall and fall . Should take 150p whilst you still can | levinson1
15/9/2023 10:37 | This is very worrying. Could CB face a class action claim regarding this ? If so, it could potentially wipe them out | levinson1
15/9/2023 09:01 | Good point @Levison1. I understand your position now. Thanks for sharing. And I think a lot of people agree here that the current mgmt. is not competent to grow this company into the next big league. Perhaps, a new professional mgmt. can help along with a revamped board. | sid_b
15/9/2023 08:09 | Fair point Sid BI have no ulterior motive whatsoever. I sold all the stock I had at higher levels. I've been suggesting fellow posters sold at 180, 170, 160and now just as much at 150pI can see this price going well south imo. There are many doubts I have and now cheaper competition growing and the Chairnan who was good now gone | levinson1
14/9/2023 18:38 | @levinson1 but then why to make such frequent posts about selling this stock? You have made your point and it's has been heard. Of course, it will always be beneficial for the group to know if your conviction is getting stronger due to x,y,z reasons. But stating the same conclusion over and over again doesn't contribute to a healthy discussion. Fair point? | sid_b
14/9/2023 18:13 | Sid B- I have no position . I never short anything. However I don't think much of CB and they are very overpriced. The market seems to agree. Well under the price of that 'supposed initial bid approach '!!!! | levinson1
14/9/2023 16:46 | Do Cakes and Bakes sell egg free cakes? | pogue
14/9/2023 16:19 | There is Cake Box shop on my high street. Few months ago another shop opened just down the road with similar name ('Cakes & Bakes' if I recall correctly) selling similar cream cakes, with good discounts on first order. They even seemed to poach shop staff from Cake Box. Guess what - after some initial interest, every day I pass the new store on the way back from work, it seems empty, there is literally no customers - while Cake Box shop seems to be doing good business. Going by my own example, I'd rather pay a few pounds more 2x a year for a guaranteed quality & delivery of my kids birthday cake, rather than take a risk on another, untried shop (particularly if it seems empty most of the time). I think the Cake Box brand & franchise has legs & bit of a moat. | farukequity
14/9/2023 10:04 | @levinson has this strategy worked so far for you? You should share your short position. Maybe we can all gain by learning from you :) Take a short position and keep posting/tweeting to sell. Is that it or is there more to your investing strategy? | sid_b
14/9/2023 09:11 | Imo get out while you can at these levels. I said this at 180p, 170p 160p and now imo they're on their way back down sharply.A P/E of 13 is far too high for a company which did not grow its profits. Profits must come under pressure surely with offerings from growing cheaper competitors.I think in a very short time you will still be lucky to get ...View Full Message | levinson1

13/9/2023 09:14 | Agreed but alas don't think it will happen. I liked the Chairman who has unfortunately just left | levinson1 |
