And this from 2008. I’m sure Burford is on the case.

“The dangers faced by investors who use internet message boards such as ADVFN and The Motley Fool are in the spotlight ahead of several forthcoming legal actions.
Nigel Smith, the private shareholder activist, is suing four retail investors for allegedly publishing defamatory remarks about him on ADVFN's bulletin boards. He has already received £20,000 in damages and costs from three other individuals.
Smith is threatening to bring legal actions against another 42 people who he claims defamed him on ADVFN. He is also suing ADVFN for allegedly failing to remove a number of defamatory posts in a timely fashion.”

personally I think all BB posters should have to give passport/driving license details before an account can be created.

Point from 2013 article that may interest SK2, etc

“In rulings that have emboldened the companies, Britain’s High Court granted orders to both Nighthawk and Nostra Terra this year giving them the right to order message boards to disclose the identities of those behind the disparaging remarks.”

in the medium and long-term, burford has a massive market opportunity; new, nascent market, burford is the leader, and this is they way forward in litigation; outside. funding. and litigation is only growing. fast!

that's why directors are buying; because this will be a 10 bagger from here over time.

The more SK2 posts those long winded “justifications” in support of MW, with no balance, the more I think Block is for the chop.

Getting is correct, SK2 by changing tack constantly, is attempting to sow discord here, and effectively saying Burford is committing fraud.

"Mr. Utley brings over 20 years of experience in the interpretation and application of accounting standards within the financial sector. Prior to joining Burford, he was a Managing Director at Barclays, where he spent 11 years in a variety of senior accounting roles."

Barclays had their own accounting controversies back in 2012:

No RNS from BUR this morning which you can take to mean either they aren't going to rebut again or they are still in middle of preparing something pretty comprehensive to release.

Bloomberg make the point MW went too far. In MW's second release they didn't mention most of the stuff they claimed in the first report. MW have thus far been discredited to a large extent. So can you believe any of what they say? (regardless of whether you think BUR are totally honest or not). They did after all claim that BUR were insolvent.

Morning all

Agree about Charles Utley.

Times trying to keep the story running.

Burford playing the game correctly. Keeping quiet and letting Block stew.
