Mister MDWouldn't disagree, but currently they aren't buying their goods hence the decline. We don't know when things will recover, but the chart isn't saying it's anytime soon IMO.

disc0 - I know nothing about fashion, but I'm pretty convinced the developing Asian markets still see this brand as a status symbol and will continue to buy their over-priced goods...

IMO it is brave as the chart isn't saying this will continue to rise. The NED purchase today isn't exactly shouting conviction either IMO, they seem like orchestrated purchases for PR.Expect the new CEO to follow suit and be interesting to see if he backs the lorry up - I very much doubt he will.Still wish you good fortune though.

Thanks but nothing particularly brave about slowly building a position and averaging up as the price continues to rise. Showing 2-3% profit currently but on a relatively small position so far !

Director buys (small & large) are starting to pick up too.

#Essential investor, our new lead will make changes to the strategy that is not working, he was bought in to design/deliver a turnaround, IF the former CEO has failed I would not expect him to blindly follow it and expect different results..? that does not make any sense, changes will be made..

I do note the comment 15.07.2024 of - I would like to take this opportunity to thank Jonathan Akeroyd for the contribution he has made to Burberry. Jonathan has set out a clear strategy for growth that we will build on - but IMO this is a pat on the back on the way out, he knows it has not worked, we know it is not working and there is the door, trying to take a brand further up the luxury scale and priced to it in times of high interest rates and inflation will alienate your core aspirational shoppers with reduced spend available, we need to reach a wider audience not a smaller one..?

Do many aspirational shoppers have GBP300 to spend on a baseball cap, 500 for a T shirt, 600 for a pair of boxer shorts, and 2,500 for an over coat..?, HNW/UHNW individuals do not even look at prices, but most shoppers do..

See what our new CEO thinks, he starts today.. :o)

LEX in the FT continues to question their corporate strategy - which the update suggests they are sticking with, all be it with adjustments.

Another small director buy in the states tonight

At the moment these director buys might act as buoyancy aides and slow the reverse that is occurring at this moment.

The movement of the Dow Jones tonight might also slow the reverses suffered over last few days or at least until some semblance of order can be restored

Hopefully can bring some calm to the troubled waters and allow the new chap to set a new course going forward

Good luck everyone

Worry for the long term trend in China. Increasingly western brands are shunned. Driving a Tesla is now decidedly uncool (and behind the times technologically) in China. Burberry check is everywhere still though. Mostly fake I believe. You can buy anything you want with the check. Lilo. Luggage, baby grow, it's relentless

#DiscoDave, I found the new CEO package breakdown and posted above, but very much performance incentive related, so he has every bit of motivation needed to deliver the turnaround for all of us..

Could be a tin hat share for the next 6-12-24 months though as changes are made and the results get measured.. :o)

LLBNot all share purchases are a signal for value, that's my overall point really. The Chair clearly throws money around like confetti. His purchases are a disaster indicating he's not exactly on the ball in terms of how the business was going and hes now approved the £9.2m golden hello - WTF are they thinking!. Nice message for those that are about to lose their jobs!.The CFO is on what £675k basic, and has bought less than 10% of her salary so shouting to me the purchase is PR and nothing else. If she'd bought six figures then fair enough.

#DiscoDave46, any director buys are welcome, clearly no one would flush good money if they did not believe in the recovery turnaround potential..

Very interesting to see how our new guy goes from day 01, possibly with a broom then build a team he can rely on to back him, he would have done his research well in advance of accepting the role, and its nothing he has not done before..

IMO he has been bought in to put together a turnaround package, and given his background then position the company ahead of MnA, get BRBY under a bigger umbrella where economies of scale can be realised, we are 1 of very few stand alone fashion companies left..

Joshua Schulmans remuneration - salary will be GBP1.2M and he will be eligible for a target bonus of 100% of salary and maximum of 200% of salary and a Burberry Share Plan award of 162.5% of salary. His pension entitlement will align with arrangements for the majority of the UK workforce. On joining, he will be granted a recruitment share award of 300% of salary which is due to vest three years from his start date subject to a two-year holding period based on achieving performance conditions linked to shareholder value creation - a very rewards on delivery focused incentive package..

LLBThe Chair buying wouldn't inspire me to follow given he bought £78k Nov 2023 at £15.63, so clearly not very astute or on the ball. The CFO purchase seems more cautious but hasn't exactly backed the lorry up IMO.Let's see how much the new CEO buys (tomorrow?) as a token gesture?!.
