Phil - considering we find ourselves in the land of shorting, I suggest you may want to take a look at shorting JPY (relative to $)?I reckon BoJ just threw us a good trading opportunity and as long as the interest differential with the dollar stays where it is, the markets should push the Yen lower. Have a good weekend - hopefully Feb will be a better month

tongosti , definitely, just thinking aloud. Don`t wish losses on anyone who is long though. Strange situation.

Short still open here and thankfully my FTSE100 put is helping the portfolio as well.

Still down nearly 3% for the year overall but could be much worse.... being 85% cash is helping ;-)

Phil - now that you're short you would like the 1000p level to be broken through surely?In turn, that should be a blessing in disguise as you will get the opportunity to buy this stock back at much cheaper levels when things (inevitably) turn around?

...luxury stocks made gains after the UBS Evidence Lab research team reassured investors the outlook for the sector is not as negative as feared, despite recent concerns about the state of the Chinese economy. In China, some 65pc see their personal finances getting better and have “positive attitudes towards luxury”, the bank’s research found. Shares in Burberry climbed 1.6pc to £11.39 as a result.

Bought this in decent size, ridiculously cheap price for anybody who can afford to hold it for the long term. Still hugely profitable and very rarely available at these multiples. Outlook for the brand under Bailey never been better.
