Americans increased their spending on cars, furniture, clothing and building materials in March, lifting retail sales for the first time in four months. Retail sales rose 0.9% last month, after falling 0.5% in February, the Commerce Department says. The rebound suggests that shoppers are returning after an unseasonably cold winter hit sales.

Burberry's (BRBY) full-year results will be released on Wednesday, and things seem to be looking up for the fashion house.

Fourth quarter retail sales are expected to rise 12%, with like-for-like growth of 7%, slightly under its third quarter performance.

From today`s JP Morgan note:

"..JPMorgan, which kept a 'neutral' stance, lifted its earnings estimates for the luxury group by around 5% for the next two years due to the positive impact of Burberry's sourcing in euros. "This benefit may have been somewhat overlooked by the market (Burberry has underperformed meaningfully European peers year-to-date) although it could, to a large extent, be erased by possible price adjustments, in particular possible price cuts in Asia Pac, and if the pound were to weaken versus the euro," the bank said."

Burberry expands in the UAE

The luxury label is about to open their biggest store yet

British luxury label Burberry is expanding its portfolio of stores in the Middle East, and we certainly aren’t complaining! Their new flagship store will be the largest to date in the Middle East and will be located in The Mall of the Emirates.

The store will showcase the full range of Burberry’s collections in both a physical and digital setting. The interior will reflect the brand’s global flagship at 121 Regent Street in London with architecture inspired by British design and craftsmanship. The store will house the widest range of Burberry collections in the Middle East, including menswear, womenswear and accessories, accompanied by a specialist tailoring service, an exclusive collection of evening dresses and a soon-to-be available childrenswear collection.

Burberry currently has 19 stores in the region, including The Dubai Mall (Dubai), The Galleria at Sowwah Square (Abu Dhabi), Rashid Mall (Kbobar), Kingdom Centre (Riyadh), Khayyat Mall (Jeddah), Villaggio and The Avenues (Doha).
