15/2/2018 10:36 | Log scale shows a view of percentage increase as against price increase, thus a 10% rise from 10 to 11 would travel the same vertical distance as a 10% increase from 200 to 220. They are both 10% increases. This may suite my psychological bias but seems to me a more logical way to view share price trends over time, especially when that time is several years. | thanksamillion
14/2/2018 13:02 | Interesting... log scale log scale distorts price and so could be argued it fits your psychological bias. Price has given other clues. Arithmetic scale does not distort price I am not a great fan of diagonal trend lines. However the log scale has tightened price and trend towards the top and gives an early sell signal if violated A retest of the H&S neckline can occur which can bring in more sellers video GL | muffinhead

08/2/2018 14:48 | Philanderer, the sensationalist headline doesn't quite match the content. Having smoked 40 a day for 40 years, I recently switched to IQOS by Marlboro and the affect on my health has been remarkable, despite these studies. There will be a market for cigarettes, or replacements, for many years to come. That said, I'm going against my instincts here and going short, purely on a technical basis! | andyj

24/1/2018 14:07 | Tobacco in the FDA spotlight Jan. 24, 2018 Height Securities checks in on the tobacco sector ahead of the FDA Center for Tobacco Products meeting. The meeting takes place amid a Trump administration focus on reduced regulations when seen as appropriate. "We think initial FDA actions on allowable nicotine levels in combustible cigarettes and other tobacco products will likely come at some point during 1Q2018 after yesterday's report by the National Academies provided Members of Congress concerned with the public health risks of tobacco products additional ammunition to force the FDA to release its long-awaited advanced notice of proposed rulemaking on nicotine," writes analyst Stefanie Miller. Miller sees Philip Morris International (NYSE:PM) as an "early winner" from the long FDA reset due to its IQOS product. The FDA's scientific advisory committee could issue a recommendation on IQOS this week. The FDA decision is expected to be announced in May. | philanderer
